they work the EOG wells around Barnhart. they have a yard in San Angelo, it's called the bag plant. they have sleeper cab petes, but you will never sleep in one. they put you in the truck for 12 hours and doesn't matter where you are, they will send out another driver to take over for you even if you are stuck at a well. from what there drivers say they only log two lines, on duty and driving. they do have this one pusher (robert i think) who loves to do these crazy hand signals when he is backing you up to a box. you won't make as much as other sand haulers do. they do have good truck and trailers though.

Thanks Plater1 I was wondering if the hiring spree was from expansion, drivers quitting or getting fired lol. The drivers you have run across, do they seem pretty happy in you're opinion? I know the money is not as great there, but the rent is cheaper in San Angelo from what I have seen.
-
they are always hiring new people. i think most people go there to learn the job then move on. nearly every time i unloaded with them they were training somebody. if you already have experience you can do much better. try max mahan in Brady, TX. you can get a good sand hauling job around Midland/Odessa, but any extra money you get will go straight to rent. housing is a serious problem in west texas.Drifter42 Thanks this.

YES IT IS!!!!! SUCKS here for housing!!!!

Thanks again. I was looking more for a local gig for now. Don't drive for Silverline? How are they treating you?
-
i don't work there any more. they got bought out by a company called Rockwater. i came back to NY, they are about to start fracking up here.
-
Where in New York are they Fracing?
-
it will be around Binghamton along the PA border.

What is everyones input on getting into frac sand hauling and finding a company to pay for my CDL training? Im in Cincinnati and looking for work down in South Texas, specifically Corpus Christi area. I also have a infant daughter and my fiance with me. I gotta find a company that would be willing to guarantee me something before I got down there. Is that even plausible? Im a former motor transport Marine with 3 deployments under my belt so my resume looks pretty good. Please any input would be great!

Use your GI bill to attend a school locally. You will collect BAH and not owe a company anything. That is the route I went and I continued to work at my old job through school.
