I was in your shoes few weeks ago... Never drove a 13 and drove the auto shift last 6 months. You'll be fine, just drive it like a 9 or 10 speed. When empty that's what I do anyway, I don't use the splitter. Fuel mileage, depending how you drive and weight, you should be in the 7's maybe 8's. Don't know if they have any 2009's left, you should be able to get a 2010.

"Dealing" with DEF involves filling up the tank while you are filling up the diesel tanks. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes out of your week, and the minimal cost, I believe, is more than made up for with better fuel mileage. I have just started driving my 2012, and even though I am getting re-acquainted with the 13 speed, I am still getting 8.6 mpg for my first 5500 miles. I have high rolling resistance drive tires (XDN2), and have done nothing yet to increase fuel mileage. I expect to work my way into the 9's before long.

You may have other very good reasons for opting for an older truck, but DEF shouldn't be one of them.

Ok, I'm not to far from Stockbridge. The recruiter asked me where I'd like to run, do we get a choice of lane or something.
