Thats why i like reefer hauling. The sound drowns out noises like ill-maintained air dryers(the ones that pop off every 2 seconds and drive me to thoughts of murdering the offending driver), Loud ### stereos, dimwits having a conversation at the top of their voices, and other annoyances. Most of the time i will try to park next to a reefer trailer, (and i usually park in the back because i prefer to walk, unlike some other idiots who park in the driveway, almost blocking everything..if this is how you park, I HATE YOU! PFFFFFFFFFT!!)if not, then i just pick a hole and back in, and if it happens to be next to you flatbeddes, tanker, bullhaulers, etc that dont like reefer haulers, that's just tooo bad. You're welcome.:smt077:smt077

The first time anyone squirts something on my truck will be facing me and my glock plain and simple. I run reefers and if the lot is fairly full ill nose in so as not to bother anyone. Ive been at this 40 yrs and im use to it but i still cant figure out why on earth drivers have to run their trucks up to such high idles and why when its nice and cool out. I have no choice but to run the reefer its my livelyhood and being an O/O i run a APU and still get drivers ######## about it while they run their engines with the clutch fan kicking in every 30 seconds.

Did ANY of you guys EVEN BOTHER to read the O.P. I DON'T have any problem whatsoever with reefers in general, I DO KNOW IT IS HOW YOU MAKE YOUR LIVING.

BUT IF your read the O.P. YOU would know that there was a TON of other open spaces in the lot some places there were 4/5 open stalls together, IF you read the WHOLE THREAD YOU would also KNOW that I had already MOVED once and parked nose in, ONLY to have a guy with a reefer NOSE in ASIDE OF ME.

IF you read some of my other responses on here you would also have read that I VERY SELDOM idle my truck, and I agree that running the truck on a nice nite is just plain wasteful, aside from the noise. ANYBODY ELSE.

IF YOU BLIND BAS*TARDS WOULD HAVE READ THE FIRST POST YOU ALSO WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT AT THE END OF THE POST I DID PUT,,,,,,,,,,,,, LOL

YOU DO KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS,,,, RIGHT????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I'm still a rookie, but I do my best to park next to other reefers. If I park in the open and another driver (dry/flat) pulls up next to me while parked, then that's his own fault. I've even warned guys that came to park next to me that my reefer was on. They appreciated the info, and said it was ok. It's not that hard to have common sense.

I am curious however, that lets say I pull into a T/S around 1600, it's hot as hell in TX, so I set the Icon and pass out around 2000. Am I supposed to wake up around 0000 and turn my truck off? Cause I know that Icon is supposed to shut the truck down when it reaches a certain temp, as well as start it back up after a certain amount of temp difference that is preset.

I would say that if it is hot as hell there are a bunch of other trucks idling as well. So, no biggie on my end.

If you set the ICON, it will start and stop as needbe. Don't set it and the truck will simply shut down after the idle timer expires. At least that's how I believe it's SUPPOSED to work anyways.

My truck has no APU or Opti idle, etc. I just idle whenever I feel I need to, based on the weather. If it's mild outside, the sleeper vents open up and the breezeway screens go in the door.
