That's very sad that has to happen to any kid or family. But you know this is the general mentality of the motoring public today. They think they can do what they want on the roads. It's a right and not a privilege anymore. Take my license, I'm still gonna drive.
It irks me when someone drives irresponsibly with children in the car.
Running a red light means distraction. Dealing with the kids? Texting?
Summer fun-two ladies and their kids (and one loaded truck) ...so sad

Well if the video isn't enough she also had no license to be driving, thusly the trucker should sue her for loss of wages and suffering from this as anyone would knowing a child died in a wreck you were in, as if she had followed the law she would have never been there in the first place thats what they get us on amirite?
-
no license should be enough to get him a good settlement.....The loss of life is alaways a sad thing, ut when its a child... I couldnt think of it.
-
They may try to sue the truck driver if they are total idiots but there is no way the truck driver will be held liable for anything especially when there is footage of the woman clearly running the stop sign with no valid license. The woman driving is the one that will more than likely be getting sued.

It amazes me nowadays when I see kids not in safety seats or buckled in. Pre 80s there was no such knowledge but nowadays it's everywhere. There's no excuse for this death.

A truck struck a car Monday morning at Brush and Hancock streets near the Detroit Medical Center, killing one child.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed a 6-year-old girl, Taneyejah Streety, was killed and two other children were injured when the Mercury Sable they were riding in was struck by a dump truck. Family members said Taneyejah was a student at Hope Academy.
The first two paragraphs makes it sound like its the truck drivers fault. The writer could have done a better job and made it clear the car was at fault in those first two paragraphs. -
Journalists these days are uneducated. Several times in the article, the writer talks about the 'right away' (right of way), and there are various grammatical and spelling mistakes in the article. I always thought that journalists and the press should be highly educated stewards of the English language. Apparently that is not the case anymore.

Yeah thats cold. You would think a mother losing their child would be enough punishment. And having no sympathy for those in the car, yup that's cold
No parent should ever have to bury their child. I can think of no worse punishment. Do you really think putting the mom in jail would be useful?osokusmc Thanks this. -
I agree. I'm no English Professor but every day I read the paper I see errors. I thought someone edited this stuff before it went to print I guess not.

No, put the one who was driving without a license in jail, I'm guessing she didn't have a license from running stop signs before.
