cat sold the rights for the 15L accert to maxxforce to build. So the 15L in cat trucks which is a rebranded transstar, is a cat rebranded maxxforce.
The 13L and 11L maxxforce are rebranded MAN's.
or sumpthin like dat??????

As far as I know maxxforce is a man engine, the cat engines are also maxxforce it's not cat design, which is a pity cos cat made great engines, we used them here in machines also trucks like foden had them and they were pretty bulletproof however if I'm right and new ones are maxxforce run a mile, you really don't want to buy these!

only the 15L is cat accert.
11 & 13L are MAN.
Does Scania have 11 and 13L inline 6's? Are all of Scania's engine designed and made by Scania?
Just wondering since VW has shares or control of them.Scania man Thanks this. -
Yup sure do, inline 5's n 6's, 9 litre, 12 litre, 13 litre, 16 litre and 16.5 litre, the latter two are v8's, all are made by Scania , they make all their own main components, They actually sell alot of marine and industrial engines in north America, I believe even the us coastguard uses them but I'm not 100% on that, they sell engines to moxy, case, terex to name but a few, in fact they do very well over there and have done for a long time, even if I remember correctly the Stephen king film 'maximum overdrive' it's a Scania v8 that lifts the bridge in the opening scene, ( I remember it cos I was young and didn't know Scania sold anything in the us so it stuck in my mind) the new ferries that are going into service to the statue of liberty are going to have Scania v8's (2 each @ 900hp each ) they are a big player in power generating engines too
-
I was just on those ferries a few days ago , they were the old ones but the diesels driving them had a nice deep low revving grunt. They accelerated quite quickly considering the bulk of the ferries.Scania man Thanks this.

Not sure if they are on the older ones but the new ones are getting them !

I may be Wrong...but I think PACCAR bought DAF.
-
I wish we could get European trucks in the states.
-
We have Volvo here, and the Swedes can take them all back for all I give a ####. And let Mack make trucks they way they made them before Volvo A.B. bought out Renault, for that matter. Don't get me wrong - they make some nice trucks, but cabovers don't appeal to me, nor do the conventionals they make. I've driven Scania, Foden, and Mercedes-Benz trucks, and wouldn't trade out even a Freightliner conventional for a single one of them (although the Volvo I drove here in the States might be a different matter). Besides, most US trucks have at least some elements of European trucks in them... Freightliner and Western Sterling are owned by Daimler A.G. (as was Sterling, prior to it being shut down in 2009), Peterbilt and Mack are owned by PACCAR, who also own DAF (as well as the Leyland and Foden marques, which they've taken out of production in favor of DAF), Mack was acquired by Volvo when they bought out Renault, which was the parent company of Mack prior to the buyout (although this turned out for the worse).
