I went to Eagle in Rockford and thought it was a very well run school. Don and Randy did an excellent job at teaching students and really wanted everyone to succeeed. This was my second go around with trucking (drove for about 5 yrs in the mid 90's) but I thought they did a very good job with everyone at every skill level. The classroom portion of the class was well taught and everyone passed there permit test on the first or second try. Don does a excellent job with the range part of the class practicing the skills portion of the state test and constantly helping you with pre trip. Randy was a good road instructor and had a lot of patience with new drivers. I am now a trainer for a large carrier and see that the training given at Eagle is far superior to most of the other schools that I have gotten students from. I wish every styudent getting in my truck had the knowledge and skills taught at Eagle.

That is great to know and thank you for your response. I will be in the next class and looking forward to a new career!

Its not a career its a lifestyle! No 9-5 while on the road. Good luck and keep the rubber down.

Randy and Don (instructors) don't mes around, they are top notch! Got my Permit with Tanker & D/T Trailer by Thursday. Friday, we spent the day Learning to control the truck backing up and stoping at the line. They teach you to get a 3 or ZERO for scoring!
First time behind the whee of a of a semi, it's scary and exciting! -
Glad to here that Don and Randy are still there both are really good instructors. You will learn a lot from both of them. Randy will take you down a few roads that really are not for trucks is kind of fun. I'm going to have to try and stop by there someday I have not been able to since I left there it might be good to show my students how tough it is to pass the Illinois skills part of the test(most are from other states and from what they tell me not nearly as tough as the Illinois test) also it would be nice to bs. a bit with Randy and Don. Make sure Don takes you across the street to the old hardware store so you can practice backing into a real dock. It's good real world experience.
