My company used orange Kinedyne and I never had a problem with wear. They swiched to yellow Ancra and it seems like I had to replace atleast 1 a week from wear. the Ancra seem a lot flimsier to me.

I went to Tarpstop in Perrysburg not long ago and bought some 2" ratchet straps. They told me both brands were being made in china now. I hate the Kinedyne ratchet. It's harder to break loose than the ancra. I do agree the Ancra strap material is a little cheaper, but then so is the strap. If you use them you'll just have to replace them more often. I guess it's an example of you get what you pay for. Just make sure you can find the best price on the same product from retailer to retailer.

Save a strap, use a chain.
Whenever possible -
Thanks for the info

I have noticed that the newer ancra straps are wearing out quicker. I am going to the xtreme duties and thinking that should do it.

Spoke with Ken at Tarpstop earlier today and he told me the extreme duties will be a bear in the winter....he is a great guy he cold have upsold me just because but he was straight upfront and said stick with the regulars

I am using Ancra 2" With ratchet as a flatbed Hot Shot driver. Some of them are starting to look a little worn out after just a few months. I store them in my crossbed toolbox when not using them and do not use them daily.
I use edge guards more to protect cardboard boxes than any other use.
