I concur with that statement.
On another note, one time, I had the front trailer axle brakes catch on fire on the PA turnpike. It wasn't from excess usage at the time either. The brake chamber failed inside on both sides. A very nice NEMF driver stopped and helped me because one extinguisher wasn't enough to put it out. Every other driver just drove by really fast causing the flames to rise. That was a action-filled night!

Quick update...I stopped in KC to take a 34 before I have to deliver in Olathe on Monday AM. I picked this live load up in Hammond, IN. It's a heavier load just under 43,000 Lbs. I will have 2925 miles on this check. I have 12652 paid miles so far for full four weeks plus two shortened half weeks (due to home time last week and orientation the first week).

I picked up a live load late morning in KC, KS. It was early afternoon by the time I was finished there. It is going to Cincinnati, OH for tomorrow at 1PM. I had to stop in Brazil, IN because time was running out. I have about 160 miles to go. It is 619 total miles (19 empty and 590 loaded). It is about 37K Lbs. There was a scale right down the street from the shipper that only charged $7, too.

What happened to the QC? Mine started acting up last few days... shut off for a few hours for no reason, sound doesn't work at all and randomly freezes - sounds like yours? -
Whatever is wrong with mine, it affecting the touch screen. Cant access messages or log off duty.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Plus, it's I-64 and I-70 all the way. You get paid for pretty much all of the miles you drive (and might even get a few extra paid miles). I just had to wait to pick up because they close at 3PM and couldn't make it there Tuesday by that time. No exaggeration...it took less than five minutes to get loaded. It was 11 pallets and almost 45,000 Lbs. It's those big sacks you would haul sugar and salt in...only these weigh twice as much (2 tons+ each). I stopped in Kingdom Hall for break and will finish later.

I delivered that KC, KS load early on Thursday (instead of Friday). They sent me a load offering when I was empty. Two of the loads were shorter runs between 450-550 miles. I chose the load from KC, MO going to Feura Bush, NY (near Albany). I picked that up on Friday. I drove to London, OH the first day since that was my fuel stop (and was about halfway to here). It is 1262 paid miles total. I got to Rotterdam last night. It was 1306 miles total because I bobtailed to the J and then had to go to the HQ to get a HUT permit for NY. Then, I went back and got the empty. I got 7.9 mpg with 34000 Lbs even pulling the mountains on I-86 and I-88. I will have a 34 hour reset before I have to deliver it tomorrow. Hopefully, they will have a good load to keep me busy for the next few days.
