No sir, admire their tenacity to drive fuel mileage. When I need to buy something for the truck I try to look at the fleets "to see what works" for they have already wasted their money. I let them experiment first.
If you have a mpg question then these are the guys to ask. So if I wanted to run OTR I would buy what they buy see?
Off topic: Hey Marine, you see that darn APAN shell the Israelis have for the tanks? Bad to the bone !! Darn thing can blow thru a wall and kicks a secondary explosion and covers the dudes inside with shrapnel.
And whats that other one? Sections fall off in flight ( up to like 7) and kill ground troops and the last piece gets the chopper? Way bad to the bone !!!

I agree...as part of a bigger effort yes, but alone? Cosmetic only. IMHO mpg's are in the fuel quality and flows. I think if we cc'ed the head, ported and polished all the flows and changed valve angles to say 45 deg. , cooled fuels then we would be in the 7-8's daily. More could be had with electric water pumps and fans.

It is very hard to measure 1/10th to 2/10th mpg gain even with a controlled dedicated roundtrip run.
-
.2 X 1 truck......who cares ? .2 X a thousand trucks, yeah, helps the bottom line at the end of the year.
BigBadBill Thanks this. -
how do you access the lug nuts with these on? is it easy for pre trip purposes?
-
.2 with one truck can benefit the owner .. It's a return on investment you personally may not care about that small amount but I do ... .2 over 1 year or even 6 months on let's say a 2000 mile trip that .2 is equalivant to almost 20 gallons of fuel .. 20 gallons x 3.50 = roughly $70.00 I guess I don't understand why it would not be a smart business move to ask that question as to your return on investment ...

I'm not sure still learning about these

To my way of thinking + or - .1 or .2 mpg could likely be due any uncontrollable variable such as a headwind or tailwind.

I made a speed handle wrench with the right phillips head bit to take them all off in about a minute. Some my use a rechargeable drill with a bit in it, but I have not had much luck with those always needing recharging when you need them.
You can also order them with windows in them to see lug nuts....

2/10ths mpg gain would net most trucking operations between $2,000 to $3,000 per year per truck in fuel savings. Well worth the investment.
If they did not save money on fuel, Schneider, MVT and few smaller fleets would not be putting them on their trucks.
