Hello all from NY !
Is December/ January a bad time to apply for a Truck driving position ???
Considering that the holidays will be over and freight will possibly be lower at that time of year .
I have one more semester of college to go before I get my degree and I would like to get on the road directly after .
Thanks in advance for any advice !
When is a good time to apply for a trucking job ???

any time is the best time. you could walk in when things are slow, but they need a driver or two. i say apply, apply, apply.

I agree go-ahead and apply!!

Go apply , and ask them questions too , ask to see what you will drive , after all you don't want to be driving around a unsafe truck either , think about whats important to you in a job and ask them about it. Everyone needs money to live ! Go for it . Good luck !

Winter may be the BEST time to apply. Lotta "drivers" falling out of the fold during those months. Go for it!

is this degree in "Trucking"?....
-
@ Demi . No the degree will be in Paralegal studies . I plan on going either to Ferrari or CDT for my PHD in trucking lol !
I really would like to move out of NY ( the cost of living here is just crazy and its getting soooo over crowded ! ) and trucking seems to be on of those careers where I can take a look at how the rest of the country is living . -
The best time to apply for a trucking job is the same as the best time to buy a house. When you need one.

Dec Jan worst time to apply start. Learning to drive in winter is a pia. Go with spring early summer build up that confidence for the ice road.
