absolut turkey you should be ok with that violation and the parking tickets. They mostly look for speed, reckless, and accidents, and of course the DUI's. Your two misdemeanors should be plenty old enough. Start calling some companies and talk to the recruiters and they will give you a better idea of where you stand. Don't call just one! Make sure you get at least 8-10 opinions and make your summary from there. Some of those companies will tell you "yes" no matter what just to get you to orientation so that they will get their commission. Out of 10 recruiters you should get a few good honest answers! Good luck....
N172, things happen for a reason man! Sounds as if you landed a pretty decent gig and I wouldn't blame you at all for jumping at it. Make sure every thing stays kosher with Central though in case you ever want to go back.
RizenPhoenix, my wife and I had the exact same experience when we started with Central. My wife had to go with a trainer which had been with the company for a long time and she was forging logs and doing all kind of illegal crap. We reported her to safety because we did not want to be liable for what she was making her do in her logbook. She immediately got a new trainer which was excellent and the other trainer got fired. They did a little investigating and found she had been doing stuff like that for quite some time. Don't ever, ever be afraid to speak up at Central if you have a problem. I can promise you that they will listen and solve the problem! That is THE number one reason I always recommend them! They have went above and beyond on many occasions to help us and never, ever did we have a problem go unsolved!

hey absolut
get your criminal history EXPUNGED. then you won't have to worry about the past. -
The math is not that hard. 70hrs a week at 50mph is 3500 mi. Plus most of my loads are multi stop and at $100/ extra stop that 2000 mi run w/ 12 stops pays real well. I average 4% dead head and am getting 7.5 mpg on my truck making me money on the fule surcharge. In addition I always get the safety and preformance bonuses. If you do your job work smart and communicate it's not that hard.

Dedicated account??? Multi stop is not $100 per and you don't see lds with that many stops unless its catfish or Christmas trees. Maybe $100 for some dedicated lds but not normal drivers. The average driver is not getting over 3000 per week. Most people I talk with are between 2300 and 2800. Company and l/o. Yes you can run 3500 per week, but lds have to fall perfect and seldom continue more than 1 week. Now, on a dedicated account, I will admit that all that stuff is possible. Just not to new drivers first thing.

Also $1200-1500/wk at 3600 mi per week is 33-41cpm according to atbs I averaged 48, 45, and 44 cpm Jan, feb, and mar (the only 3 fully solo months I had). Hope that helps.

I'm not dedicated. I do run a lot of fred myers w/ 4-5 stops, your right the 12 stop load was a fluke I was just using it as an example. I also run a lot of nursery loads out of Oregon (I take half of my home time there and live stay between 6 nurseries) most of those loads run me 2000+ mi with 5+ stops at the end. I get paid $50 for stop 02, $100 for stop 03, and $150 for stops 04-98 (averaging out to $100/stop to clarify)

Well I think my paycheck might get a hit this week. Been sitting at us cold storage in Minooka, IL for 24hrs now. There are other Centrals here who say they have been here for 2 days!!! So much for being a team player. I REPOWERED this load to help a guy out whos partners ( team not life) father died so he could not make it on time. So I will admit this one will probably be closer to a solo week, even though I do have a trainee with me.
-
Hell, I'm at US Cold Storage now, thankfully I found an empty and get to leave in the morning, or whenever I want, considering I don't pick up in WI till the 2nd. Where are you parked here?
-
Over across from the water tower. Unfortunately I have to deliver and recive here so no drop and hook for me today. Ive been trying to get my outbound loaded on an mt so I can drop this one and go. But they and central say no. I guess there load is not going to make it to ga by 1000. As its midnight and I'm. Not even in a door yet
-
So after seeing and talking to around 10 Central drivers here at United States Cold Storage (USCMIN I believe, too lazy to look), if you see a load coming here, have somebody else do it or plan on waiting for a while. Talked to one lady who has been here for 2 days, unload and load. They are backed up at LEAST 24 hours from what Security AND Central are saying.
