Some baseline testing before new ECM software http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oahMse_swnI&feature=plcp

One of the only things I want to import from USA is all those weekend competitions for working trucks, pulling, drag racing and dyno competitions. Dyno competitions I have already arranged, pulling and drag racing are next to come.

Yeah I've driven them 4*2 with 4 point air ride cab, ride was slightly better than a normal r cab, rode like a ridgid, however I know 2 point suspension was an option on them but I never saw one, could imagine that would make them hard, another thing with 4 series scanias was I've seen lots of them specced with heavy duty 3 leaf spring on the front ,why? not too bad with a v8 topline but with small engines and cab they rode very hard , all mine were on 34mm 2 leaf or air and rode extremely smooth.

early cabovers were rought. I remember Volvo F10/F12, FLA, 9800 and K100. Argory is still rought like old cabovers. but from 90s they run smoother and smoother.

i am asking because scania 2point suspension on rear axle it makes wheelbase virtually shorter than it is and makes truck uncomfortable ....and this is reason why many drivers dont like scania , here 4 bag is very rare only a dozen of trucks have it

there is only one 4series rigid here but it is 6x4 tipper ....

    all are 2axle tractors

i would chose 2bags for rigid chassis because no things to repair , very hard is to change V bar except if it is tipper

most of T cab tractors here are with 3 parabolic springs i dont know reason and also they had am920 axle which is higher than for road vehicles and most of them had heavy duty frame , i cant find any reason there is no strain on chassis since 5th wheel is only 36cm from drive axle

I've heard alot of guys blame the rear airbag set up before, if those old 4 series were specced with the wrong front suspension they used ride rough and rear did seem to slap over bumps that ran straight across the road like those little rubber speed bumps, wether the softer suspension absorbed some of the impact from the rear I couldn't say fir sure but the ones I had rode as smooth as any other brand with a 4 bag setup, I also used gas shocks in mine, that too made a difference! I dont like 4 bags on a 4*2 anyway, they roll too much, 2 bags are alot more stable and virtually trouble free! The cab suspension is so good in the r series now that setup isn't as important,

how this affect on working truck

i would not like to start in high gears like you do with t143 with working truck

i would not like to put so much strain on driveline and other components

The only American built truck I remember that offered a 4 point cab suspension was the "Two Story Cherry Picker" Ford 9000 COE. Really bad design! It rode better then anything else out there, but man, when making a turn or going around a bend it scared the living lights out of you. It definitely was something you had to get used to.
As for any other truck, I don't remember any that offered a 4 point cab suspension from the factory,......maybe some people modified them with an aftermarket solution........example: air bag on front axle.

The trick with 4 point cab suspension is keep the front airbags high n wide, scanias are right under the windshield, the rear suspension should be only 1/4 inch off the stoppers, the front should take all the impacts, this leads to a stable and smooth ride!
