Getting unloaded here on my first ever run to hunt's point, hoping this'll be a clean delivery, then to my next adventure...ESCAPE FROM DA BRONX!!

 

Delivering this morning at Ankeny,Ia so glad I'm not at home in VA power was knocked out by the storm that hit the e coast. Know I have a couple of trees down but main issue is the heat and no power,said we could be out up to a week,sure hope not the elderly are really suffering.

 

I'm still in Harrisonburg, VA. Checked on my load and its been unscheduled and won't be rescheduled until tomorrow. Called Dispatch and they told me to call back at 11 when they'd be in the office. I topped of the diesel and checked out of hotel. Sitting back at the truck stop in a holding pattern idling away my bonus in the 96 degree heat.

Update: VA dispatch is sending me another load that is ready now!

Made it out of the bronx, headed home as soon as i get hours(and some sleep), seeing some storm clouds forming.

 

Sitting at my reciever in Ankeny....they are closed but at least I can park there...plus the walmart is just a short walk away.....I can even have overpriced fake Italian at the olive garden if I want...

 

It's Ameritalian. Just look at it that way and you can enjoy it just fine. Like Americhinese or Amerxican. Same idea.

I got a golden little load. Ice cream for Kroger in Salem, VA for Tuesday evening. Plenty of time on it, perfect for my HOS, light enough to be smooth, heavy enough to stay grounded, late model trailer, the whole nine. And I just took a shower.

Gonna watch a movie and enjoy the fact that I'm not trying to work with a 101 degree fever and muscle aches and weakness anymore. (Thursday night, Friday, and Yesterday, Woo!!)

Oh, and there's an African O/O dude in the parking lot dancing his heart out right now...apparently to music only he can hear. He's got some moves, though, I'll give him that.

The scent of flowing mucus pleases them.
