Detectors are passive devices, meaning they do not emit a signal to be detected.
Now if, as the OP claims, his can actually jam a signal it would be a different story.
And I imagine you could face jail time if you were actually sending out a jamming signal.
Obstruction of justice, if nothing else.
And the FCC might also get into the act. -

Another option, since even the Beltronic's weak point is laser, is an app for your Iphone or Android to work with the Radar detector to get information from other users of the app on where the laser radar detectors are setup. Another option, is a bearcat scanner, an older one, that picks up a short range repeater from the officers vehicle to get his handheld to work as well as his mobile in the car. Scanners are also illegal in many states, with an exclusion for those with an amatuer radio license as part of the band is shared with the ham radio frequency range.

Actually radar detectors do emit a very faint signal, if not kept safely behind a metal shield such as a titanium casing. This is what the radar detector ddetectors pick up on.

I know the Beltronics STi Magnum CLAIMS to be undetectable, but to me it just isn't worth the risk to find out the hard way. Is Beltronics going to pay the fine? Nope. Will Beltronics get rid of the CSA points? Not a chance.
Far easier to just drive the speed limit and not worry about it...Autocar Thanks this. -
i for one use a detector, always have, always will. never been caught with it. it's one of those undetectable ones. i dont use it to speed.i use it to keep an eye on the person on the other end of the signal.corneileous, jammer910Z and VisionLogistics Thank this.
