I wouldn't get my cdl....hows that? But it's a job and I'm thankful I have one....

That's me in the avatar with my rig. Guys there never did the micro managing I get now, but...
They made money off me, and didn't pay squat. Except the free coffee and free ice...
They gave me a DAC report "quit under dispatch", but in my defense, I had no MT to go to the shipper to get the load. -
Yea, they forget the many hours we do work and how much we sacrifice.... Thats why I call them USA SUCK !

Well I thank god I got a dispatcher that calls me by name. Communicates with me and gets me home when I need to be. I average 2300-2600 miles a week. Could be better but it's paid off $8000 in debt since January. Plus savings and monthly bills. I have yet to sit thru a weekend without a load unless I told them I needed a 34. I've had bad weeks but it's usually the week I go home or go back out. I meet Lawrence (safety mgr in west Memphis) before I started and talk with him everytime I go in. Keeps it friendly and may help if ever an incident. May not. I'll hopefully never find out. I ask questions and communicate issues to my FM and never had them say anything about late arrivals as they already knew why and delt with it.
No USA is not perfect and has many issues. I will probably leave after my 1year mark maybe second. Depends on which company I decide to go with when I'm ready. I have to with standing job offers but have to wait because of their insurance.
I have friends at PAM. If what they say is true, even partially, I'd rather be at USA. One I can blame him. He is bull headed and a smart #####. The other has a better attitude but sounds like a crappy dispatcher. Everyone has their own experiences. Everyone in a situation is partly to blame. Some more than others. I make mistakes but I own up and admit them. Maybe why my dispatcher helps me and covers my butt.
It may all turn to sh** tomorrow. And if/when it does I'll deal with it.
Good luck to you all and I wish you well at your current jobs.
Sent from somewhere out there on the road. -
I agree about Lawrence...he is just about the only cool safety guy at that while company....
airforcetoo Thanks this. -

I ususally do not get into to many details with people. Ill quote my self here
As far as what I was told with PAM is crappy dispatchers who give no home time, crap miles, rude, doesn't care whats going on "just get it there" attitude. Won't give a run over 1000 miles unless your team driving, etc...
But like I said one is the drivers crap attitude and the other I do not think stands up for himself at all. Just a little to timid.
As for me I average 2200-2300 miles a week. not great but pays my bills with money left over. I get more and less but it is what it is. My FM listens and communicates. That helps. she listens to me and takes care of me. Could it be better, YES.... But I am happy enough while I finish my 12 months. I'll decide then what I am going to do.
