I'm 34. Maybe not "older" with me so much as it is "more mature". LoL

But yeah, pretty much. I didn't realize JB trucks were 62mph until day 2 of orientation. Dang near walked out and drove home. Safety guy told me to give it a chance, to see how what I was learning really worked.

And he was right. Poking along in the right lane is sooo relaxing. I'm never in a hurry because I can't be! And once you don't have a choice but to be patient, that mentallity invades every other aspect of driving. My job is so stress-free + I still make $1100-1300/wk AND get a reset at home every weekend.

True, age really has nothing to do with it, maturity does. I know quite a few my age that are still lagging behind, to put it mildly.

I dont have a attitude so I drive fast and I pass other people whats the big deal? I have from the time I was 8yrs old raced motocross when I was 17 got out of that and started running drag bikes got out of that started running pro street cars then got into nitro burning funny cars.... So as you can see from my past I like speed....just because someone drives fast dont make them dangerous..... autocar......I am old

Driving the speed limit and pacing yourself to safely move with the flow of traffic doesn't make you unsafe.

    Becoming a roadblock does though.

I like speed too, so that's why I go to Alabama Internaional Dragway on some Friday nights. Keep the speed where it belongs, on the speedway.

Autocross racing, rallycross racing & a 205mph Hayabusa says I love speed as well.

But not on the road in an 80,000lb vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I still don't like doing 62. I think it's ridiculous and that it actually creates a dangerous situation due to the difference in my speed and of those around me. I totally get that. But the minimum speed for almost all interstates is somewhere between 45-55mph. That's the minimum. The speed limit is not the minimum. It's the maximum. But none of it matters as I do not set the speed limits and I don't own the truck. So I do what's expected of me.

But there does come a point where high speed is dangerous no matter how good a driver you are, and the only thing standing between you and disaster? Luck.

then if becomes an issue of driver responsibility and with a gps telling a company that a driver is travelling at unsafe speeds, then fire them. Don't create a safety situation that is more dangerous for the rest of the people trying to abide by the law and traffic pattern.

The judge that ruled in favor of the trucker in Canada got it right and explained it correctly.

so if the min is 45 to 50 and say the max is 70/75 whats wrong with doing the posted max speed maybe some drivers cant handle a truck those speeds and proly should be doing 45 idn....... I dont find myself to be unsafe or not in control of my truck at 1mph or 70 plus mph

If they can't handle a truck at the posted speed limit, then what are they doing on the road to begin with?

At this point in the speed debate a bull hauler or two needs to weigh in. Maybe a car hauler as well... They seem to have different takes on this issue.
