Talked w/ the owner Monday on the way out.

Historically, this truck is 5.9 mpg since they got it in 09.

Yesterday I got 6.17 running 79k from beloit wi to Minneapolis and back to beloit.

I've got 8 2012 Cascadias in my fleet with a 450 DD13 grossing between 75K and 80K. They're doing good on fuel economy for a flatbed operation considering they're not broken in yet. Averaging between 6.5 and 6.9 in winter months. My data shows this should increase about by roughly .5 as we move into warmer months. Just put in an order for 6 more.

Does anyone know what is the first year the DD15 came out? Does it have a bull gear like the earlier versions of the DD?

I would like to see more answers to the original question, what rpms should you shift at?
Instead of all the MPG reports. I have a DD15 and am a new driver, so am very interested in this. Didnt get any real training except with my trainer who says to shift it at higher rpms, but recently I took a stage exam and that trainer said shift at like 1200.

I say do it his way and when he breaks something you can just sit back and laugh.
The proper way to shift is shift out of 5 at 12... 6 at 13... 7 at 14... 8 at 1500.
When it goes into gear it will go in at 1000 every time.
Thats why its called progressive. Progressively higher

Side note you will always get everyone that wants to put their 2 cents in whether it pertains to the topic or not. Its just sad to have to read thru 4 pages of nothing to get your answer. I had to wait for 3 days and 7 pages before.

    azcardnlz Thanks this.
