So I parked at the far quiet end of the truckstop.....

Maybe that driver was actually being polite by dropping his reefer trailer way out back where nobody but you was parked, saving the other trucks from having to listen to it.... or maybe that is where he always drop it off, taking up a spot in the back-40 and not taking one up near the building for others to use. there is always more to a story than you realize. He is just doing his job like you are, just a type of freight.

If you want peace and quiet then start parking at the cemetery

 

I guess if you're stupid enough to knock on somebody's door uninvited without knowing if the driver is asleep or not, then you're probably dumb enough to get a knife to the throat when you end waking somebody up to tell them a bunch of stupid BS.

Waking a driver up to let him know you're truck is gonna be running and might keep him awake. That is SMART!

 

I pull reefer. If I am forced to park next to other trucks, I put myself between two nose-first trucks, so my reefer is near the rear of their truck. Spots like this are usually easy to find. If I arrive at a truck stop first, I park as far away as I can from drivers with their windows down. If I can, I will nose into a corner.

If I'm somewhere with pull-through parking spots and I have to take one, I always try to park opposite face from the trucks next to me.

I know I don't have to do any of this, but I really find it unnecessary to park with my reefer blasting right next to a dry van sleeper.

 

In that case, send her to my bunk, and don't wait up. She won't wanna go back.

 

...and that's when you get told to scrub the crust out your crack, clean the gutters, mow the lawn and trim your nose hairs. Yup, get on it asap before your cursed to nag-a-tory.

 

That right there is the truth. You don't do it because you want to or should. You do it because you'll never hear the end of it if you don't.

 

Tonight I am parked at our terminal in Louisville. Its near the airport and directly over the flight path of inbound flights. I very politely called the flight tower and asked them to divert all flights away from the area tonight, but they flat out refused. I plan on writing a strongly worded letter about this.

 

Get some #### earplugs!!!!!

 

as I sit at little America TS in Flagstaff I count 6 bobtails taking up 65 foot spots
to me that is rude. I NEVER EVER NEVER park bobtail in the truck spots
