It's the law in the U.S. and Canada. If I drove in Great Britain or Austrailia, I'd drive on the left, as that is their law.
Why did you ask such a stupid question?
It is not the law to drive at the posted speed limit, only to not exceed the posted speed limit.

This one went right in the dumper there...

Without jumping into the morass here.

One thing I DID want to comment on, was the "governed truck" thing - which was the basis of a lawsuit in Canada.

What ever happened to SELF CONTROL (instead of governed SPEED CONTROL). Only problem I have with governed trucks is that if you NEED TO GO OVER 62 (or whatever) for SAFETY REASONS (not just because you want to run 75), that "extra bump" should be available.

The '03 Coronado, we had, had the engine governed at 75, but was programmed that with a double stomp on the throttle would do 80 for a maximum of 30 minutes, every 12 hours. That was a setting available in the ECM.

I think we should all get together and discuss these issues at the nearest convenient truck stop.

    ...

No but seriously, let's just all agree to disagree, speeders will be speeders and slowpokes will be slowpokes. What we need here is two separate hwy systems, one for trucks and the other for 4wheelers,much like the NJ turnpike but without allowing the 4wheelers in the truck hwy. Who seconds my motion!?!?!

I've actually been dreaming of something like this for major urban areas for quite some time. Would make sense to have a dedicated truck lane bypass system for everyone traveling through major cities (like an HOV lane), for vehicles with 3 of more axles.

But would cost far too much for that to ever happen.
