Congratulations on both counts! I'm finding these days as I approach my Prime Time, that getting rid of "stuff" is very free-ing. Fortunately, my wife now (#3!), is my best friend and wants to enjoy the ride! Good luck!

Sometimes. At other times, it's better to have 'em take a long jump off a short bridge....Or, you could just get lucky and find a great partner.

Fat Damon sorry to hear about the divorce. I'm wishing luck on returning back to orientation. I finished orientation yesterday. Meet my trainer and dispatcher and we have been on the road every since.

Dragon they put me with a guy because they truly did not know I was a girl. Lol. He's cool and very professional. He's teaching me a lot. Our first load was deadhead to cali (will be there today) then take it to Ohio.

So far Prime has been everything I expected plus more. I'm considering leasing after I take the instructors course and get some time under my belt. To give back for the amazing opportunity. I know they really need female trainers. So I figure I can help with that!

Hope everyone stays safe out there!

I'm glad you have a trainer that you are comfortable with! I really suggest that you stay company for at least a year before you try leasing and/or training. There are people here who are making the Prime lease work for them. Gather your resources ($3-$5k in the bank, mentors, attitude) before you sign it. Oh, and read the thing. Carefully. Success leasing WILL give you a generic copy of the lease so you can read over it at your leisure. Just go in there and tell them you are considering it, and you need a copy of the lease to read before you make the decision. They won't hide it. Pay careful attention to that document. I am not saying do lease, I am not saying don't lease. I'm saying if you do, go in with your eyes wide open.

    Newtrucker83 Thanks this.

Stay awake and be on TIME. Take the simulator serious, you will receive a grade on it. Study if you are a PSD student. Don't drink!

You can expect not to be paid for orientation. You can also expect your first check to be prorated once you go out with a trainer unless it's on a Tuesday. Most leave on Friday so you will on be paid for those days til Tuesday.

At orientation, you're not an employee yet. Employees get paid.

I was told I would get orientation pay. After I've been here for 3 weeks now, I get a totally different story. Also, at most companies orientation you aren't an employee yet but they still pay. Not complaining just stating the truth.
