US 6, Loveland Pass in CO can be a very tricky pass to climb and go down. It's narrow, and windy.
ewill71 Thanks this. -
So far....
Lolo Pass. US 12. Id/MT line. -
I haven't driven over it but I have ridden over it in a big rig and the scariest was Donner in the winter..
-
In CDL school I went over Mt. Eagle (in Tennessee)

i'd say the worse i've been on was the 550 between montrose and durango, colorado.
that is defenitly a road that shouldn't be colored orange in the atlas. reminds of when ice road truckers was doing that summer show on them narrow swichback roads. the worlds deadliest roads. -
you can't consider it a "road" but went on a lumber drive that you had a guard at the bottom. He allowed one truck on the drive at a time.
If it was your first time, you waited until a pilot car came and got you. Then he took you up and brought you down. Stopping to watch you navigate the switchbacks.
Twer a fun drive. -
Alt 74 Between Ashville and Forest City, NC. Not such a bad grade but under the circumstances ... there was an interstate shutdown S of Asheville, It was around midnight, I had never been across there before, I was heavy, I had to get to Charlotte with a "hot load", I had been running since Rockford, IL (Was young, hungry, and stupid then) and the fog was extremely dense. I would not wish that experience on anyone. But, I made the appointment time.

Wolf Creek pass before the new road was put in.
Sam Hell, striker, Working Class Patriot and 1 other person Thank this. -
I am going to agree on US 6, Loveland Pass in Colorado. Only have to use it if hauling hazmat as they do not allow hazmat through the Eisenhower tunnel. After that I would say Cabbage Patch on I-84 in Oregon. Usually wet, heavy snow. Donner Pass is really not that big a deal if you are patient.
D.Tibbitt, Working Class Patriot, TRKRSHONEY and 2 others Thank this.
