bingo we have a winner! i didnt say anything about hating cops. i'm like you stand up straight and dont be intimidated, and dont say anything more than what is required of you. they have a job to do just like me but some cops whether it's because they woke up mad or something made them mad doesnt mean you have to take it on the chin either. running a radar detector is my preference period. some laws are just there for the money. the officer that stopped me the other day was on a mission and he failed. karma is a good thing.

guess i should of put LOL at the end. it was meant as a sarcastic joke nothing more.
-
Again, I ask. To "alert" me for what reason? -
im not being mean but how else can i explain it!! reread the line!

I have a radar detector, its the CB and all my fellow truckers that call out alerts as I do when I see something of interest. Tells you right to the mile marker where they are and which way they are looking. I radar detector by the time they work it is too late, kind of like the idiots that slam on their brakes when they see one ..... too #### late.
LaBubba Thanks this. -
I have re-read it. I still don't get what would be different with or without the detector assuming you are running legal as you indicate. No need to try and explain, we'll just leave it as one of the mysteries of life.

I remember when I lived in Iowa for two years and found out that the Iowa State Patrol was using X band radar guns on US30 to catch drivers off guard who were so used to X band being false signals.
Don't need one where I usually operate anyways, the speed limits are are 70-80 mph, and Texas has a few 75 mph two laners! -
heh..
I NEVER give a heads up over the radio about a trooper sittin there with his radar gun out
I'm of the notion if you're speeding enough to get pulled (USUALLY, 10+) then you deserve to get pulled over. Why do I feel like this?
Because before I started driving my wife was almost T-Boned in her mini-van with my 2 very young boys in it, by a female dump truck driver that blew through the red light in a 25mph zone doing, as my wife stated, about 45mph. Do you know what I would do to someone who took my family from me?
Use your imagination.
So I never flash my lights or give any indication that there is a LEO here or there.
Don't break the Law.
Now, please be safe out there ya'll

Sorry to hear about the wife and kids are they ok? That's one of the reasons I drive extra cautious in the cities those lights are never timed right
