I've had a couple of dispatchers, some rude; I'll agree with that, not saying they all are though. I've read alot on this website, and one thing I came expecting was that a lot of dispatcher's don't treat you like people, that's ok, cause what comes around goes around (thank God for the qualcomm I say, the beauty of documented evidence of what is spoken) And yes, alot of them do have that get it there attitude, but that's there job, that's their main focus. You lose your humanity sometimes when you only focus on the mission and forget the other factors of your surroundings...Home time has been good to me, I've only had a problem getting home once. I've only been solo for a handful of weeks but so far the average is slightly better than you ... will have to let you know later though, when I can give you a better average... and yes as a solo driver (at least with this dispatcher) I've only went over 1000 twice (AND HE WASN'T EVEN THE ONE WHO GAVE ME THOSE LOADS LOL). My first stint solo was better in that sense, but this was before I went teaming and I believe PAMela wanted me to be in her good graces. PAMela's alright except for the fact that she's a bit ... how would I put it ... old fashioned in a sense ... "Me, Boss. You, Slave" lol but it's only temporary - I got my cdl partly in thanks to them. So I'm in this situation cause this is what I chose, and I have to see it thru, no matter what. My last dispatcher (when I was teaming) helped me thru a tough situation and he told me that it showed that I "have character, cause anybody else would not have stuck it thru" ... hopefully PAM will find more people like that gentleman. It's not all bad, maybe it's getting better but I've heard it's gonna get worse, but who knows. For those of you who are looking into this Driver Solution option, read, read, read. You'll find the truth in here. As for me, I'm on the other side of the hump and on cruise control till the end of my contract so unless you can give me a better scenario over at USA; I'm pretty much convinced it's a lot worse over there ...

I averaged 2550 the last 5 weeks. So no complaints. I won't team with someone I do not know well so Pam was out of the question from the start. Of course training was an exception I had to make. I made the required hours and got out as fast as I could.

I do not nor have I worked for PAM. So I only repeat what I am told and that's why I qualified my statements with my opinions of the guys crying to me about how "horrible" it is.

I am happy and do not have any of the issues at USA I read about on here. I just don't see it as that bad. Maybe I just got #### lucky? Don't know and don't care. I'm fine and that's all I can control. Will I stay after 12 months? I'll let you know in a few months. But for now I have a great dispatcher and get decent miles usually. I get home when I want. No major complaints. No more than anywhere else I have worked since I was 14. Some places are good and some bad. Been at good places and got a crappy new boss. I left once I could not stand it any more. Been at bad and was about to leave when I'd get a new boss who was great. Got me to stick around longer.

    Is what it is.

Well it's like someone said on here once, ” No matter the company, if u have a good dispatcher, you'll have good miles” ... in the case of PAM tho I heard it was the planner's job to give out the bread.

It's good to hear someone is making it work at USA. At the end of your 12 months please don't get complacent like I did. Keep your record clean, and you will find there is much better treatment, and money out there. A lot more than just "pays the bills."

Well I said pays the bills with some left over. People could probably figure my cpm out but I'm not giving it freely. I'll get a nice raise at my 12 month mark. (almost there). I just got a raise for $0.02 cpm. So I'm fine. I make my money and do not brag or ##### about the exact amount as that's between me and me since I'm single. If I made $500,000 a year I'd still say it pays the bills with a little left over.

So that's clarified (I think). I may stay I may leave after 12 months but I'll make that because I'm a cheap @s$ and I ain't paying full price for that school. But if I don't find the place that has the money, location, home time, and benefits I want I won't change. Unless something drastic happens where I am. And I don't see that.

Umm..why beat around the bush on what you make? It is not like you make something different then your co drivers, right? Filling in the blanks will help another driver figure if this pay scale will or will not work for them. just my thought tho.

Students start at $0.26 a mile when they start. The base with atleast one year is $0.34.

That should be enough info unless some one wants the first years basic breakdown. What I make is my business. Sorry if that sounds like a jerk thing to say. I am willing to help any who need it or want it. I'll help you budget and give you a general idea of your weekly check. But I don't share specifics on mine with just anyone. So I learned a long time ago not to share my exact salary. Trust me it can gets stupid if someone feels slighted. And I don't want to feel that way either. :)

I'm not trying to bust any bubbles. But they start cutting down on your miles after you make so much. That appears to be the rule of thumb. The new people that get paid less get more trips.

They called me today and gave me the speech! Turns out they were only interested in me if I leased on with them! I have only 8-9 Months of recent CDL A experience! They didn't know I had a CDL way back! BEWARE sounds like a scam to me!
