That's what I don't like and why I was so upset having stuff pushed on me! Do some of the people in the office not realize that this company is NO FORCED DISPATCH? Sorry ya didn't get home....I did help out last weekend, just wished DM didn't diss me like they did last week....well, they won't be too happy come tues. when I ask for another DM. We'll see what happens I guess!

Guys just a reminder look at trailers before moving them. I had one the other day that I dropped at Chester in the service area that needed tires very bad what I mean by that it had steel showing all the way around. I was talking to a driver that was sitting on the lot and while I was talking to him he was telling me there were drivers looking for empty trailers. I was telling him I hope they don't take the one over in the needs service. He watched as A driver just backed under it and just hooked up his lines never look at the tires and lights and just took off. I did report to dispatch that they might want to tell the driver that hooked to the trailer to stop and look at the tires. This is how they end up getting loaded so the next person gets stuck with it.

yeah this is my biggest issue is the number of trailers being dumped for the other guy to deal with.

I've seen guys hook to them as well and just drive off.....even saw one at one of the yards pull the red tag off of it hook to it and go without so much as even doing a walk around. a few too that wake up in the truckstop or at the shipper or receiver and just fire up and go without even getting out of the truck.....

but see alot more that, like I, will go over it with a fine tooth comb before it moves.....as well as when they stop.....had one of our guys fueling beside me checking his after we fueled as i was doing mine even say he was glad to see at least someone else doing a walk around enroute as well.....

but it IS an issue.....like the pics of the bald tire i had 2 weeks ago on a loaded 45k lowes load....that didn't get that way on the last trip it was run thousands of miles to get that bald through many drivers....

maybe it's just my aviation background and knowing that every airplane that crashed usually flew fine on the previous trip and that preflight check is a religion......or a father who drilled a sense of responsibility, accountability and work ethic into me.........same for pretrip on the truck....and enroute checks....otherwise i wouldn't have caught some of the things i have and ended up on the side of the road.....

thankfully there's alot more of us doing it than don't. but the few that aren't sure are making it hard on those of us that end up stuck picking up the junk they left for the other guy

Rich in trailer shop knows he has a double handfull that does their pretrip correctly and will get it fixed! There and drivers he knows he has not seen in 2 years! No ones that lucky, and we are not that unlucky! We are finding stuff others don't or care to get fixed. Shop will fix anything we tell them about! Way but laziness or just don't give a duck, get it fixed. Just because the one before you did not does not excuse passing it on.

don't think that's really going to make a difference in your miles but i could be wrong.....i'm on it....i like the extra money in the check each week but we'll see how i feel about that at tax time cause i'll figure it both ways and see which one works out better

i called it right on the run out of tn.....starting to get a good feel for where i do or don't want to end up at and what kind of run i'll get....317 miles on the load out after i got done at hurry up and wait mart......

just to reiterate what i said about the malwart live unloads.....845 appointment......at the gate at 750.....8th in line.....don't get to the gate and checked in until 821.....by the time i get all the way around the building, unhook, pull up and get to the traffic office, i got stamped in at 841......almost an hour early but only showing 4 minutes early on the paperwork.....then, 2 hours to unload and 2 more hours to get my paperwork.....sure am glad it was only a half trailer load....if it had been a full trailer i'd been there all #### day.

at least the run today will get me through the house tonight for my 10 even though it's #### miles to start the week.....still will give me 3197 for the check......swap off a week's worth of dirty clothes and refill my tea jugs and see momma and the doggies......

sitting here getting loaded now and watching moving on......i love that show lol.....

Hello all. I spoke with my recruiter today and she asked if I minded going out with a trainer for a couple of weeks since it has been a while since I have been out and I said no problem. Then I asked her when I was done with that I would be driving the short hauls out of Savannah and she really didnt answer. I will call her again tommorow. I guess I am just looking to make sure I will be doing what I was appling for and not left otr. I hope everyone is doing great.

I don't think per diem will affect my miles...just wondering if any of you guys have it or not....glad to know I'm not the only one! So, temp DM didn't let my DM know that I was going back out today! They were kinda mad that temp DM didn't put anything on the board about when I got back and so on and so forth. Called me twice yesterday looking for me and called this morning when I was on my way in....gotta nice run to start the week...but got royally SCREWED 495N as it came to a dead standstill and made it to Maryland.....figured I'd just call it a day and chill....thanks to traffic, I'm suppose to be at Ikea at 0630 in CT....but guess I'll be late...can't help traffic and was given load yesterday and picked up today for a morning delivery....guess I'll be the MIDNIGHT DRIVER! haha I know they've been routing up around GW Bridge....but I figured that's the shortest way up there and should have no problems coming through there around 4 in the morning....just gonna push my luck and see what happens!

yeah you should be fine that time of morning.....you do know you can tune 101.9 i think it is on the radio as you're approaching it's a news/traffic station they give every 8 minute updates on traffic and the bridges.....saved my ### a few times on routing either way around.....same as 103.5 for the dc area.....turn off the music for a little bit and get the traffic updates on approach most days at the right times you'll be glad you did....

i got stuck on another live load....been gettting more than my share lately.....5hrs on this one....back down in lumberton again doing the hurry up and wait at quickie mfg......not a #### thing quick about that place.....went to sleep and the guy beat on the side of the truck so hard i thought his fist was coming through the side and scared me awake i bet i jumped 2 feet off the bunk lol..........at least no problem getting the wait pay..........i'll be doing the overnight thing to pittston otherwise i'd be stuck in the morning rush in dc.....worth it to go ahead and get the 10 now and avoid the bs in the morning but puts me there at daylight with only 1hr or tomorrow afternoon with full hours and probably no load and waiting till morning....either way their drag ### attitude here screwed up my plan for the day and tomorrow as well....good miles though and at least got in half a 10 already waiting to get loaded

got someone decent this week for a temp while mine is on vacation....had him before he's pretty on the ball.....so at least don't have to worry about that this week

that ikea up there isn't too bad...been there a few times they're alot quicker unloading than alot of them

Is anyone doing the se region? How are the miles? I dont think the short haul is going to work for me, so I am looking at the se region. She said all I need to do is tell her when I want to start.
