That was the good ol' days......They're gone now though.....
We're over-regulated and depending on the lanes....You're competing with NAFTA rigs that can run half of what you can run.....
Case in point....
I'm trying to get out of Denver metro back to SO-CAL......I can usually get at least $1500 outbound...
Had a well known broker who offered a load tarped and heavy dropping 150 miles N/O of LA metro paying $1.10/m.......
I won't take that load....But I guarantee a NAFTA driver will...Otherwise that load would have paid at least $1450 not $1100.......
You guys that run reefers,

Dry van and local work is much easier. More $$ and home daily. Drop and hook. If you like hauling ref...cool and good for you. The company I worked for made life miserable and I'm glad I left. That was the best decision that I've made: grass it truely greener on the other side. Day cab, come home daily, don't have to listen to the reefer running PPFFTTT. You like sitting for hours being unloaded, sitting for hours being loaded then good for you. Thanks for delivering what America demands. Guess what I deliver on a daily basis is not in demand. Funny, it's one load right after another and they're calling me on my 2 days off wondering if I'll come in. Hmm strange.

I guess FERTILIZER is in a big demand
Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
there's the difference, i was taught by my elders & #### sure didn't disrespect them. it was over 20 yrs ago when u weren't even driving then; u probably went to a school, i didn't have that; i learned the hard way, ever heard of THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS
-
i'm not saying i'm proud of it; that is how i was taught, i didn't disrespect my elders. u didn't learn how to drive like i did. u are still learning how to drive, u may @ the most have 100,000 miles on u; i've got over 2.5 million in 20+ yrs, new people driving today fresh out of these schools is hurting the industry with all these accidents etc.
this is 2012 i learned back in the late 80's. huge difference from then to now, but u wouldn't know that -
Yeah I have heard of the school of hard knocks obviously you didn't go there letting someone punch you while there teaching you how to drive. Your a victim of an endless cycle of abuse that you are to weak to stop. Now you think you can abuse us because we haven't been driving as long as you. If that's how they taught someone to drive a truck 20 years ago I'm glad I only learned 15 years ago. You think your tough cause you got knocked in the head. You think you have respect because you didn't stop it. You are a victim of abuse and you might need to see a counselor.
