I'm not sure which airport, I would assume DFW International, but to be safe, why not call your recruiter and ask. If they don't know they can check with the training department to find out for sure.

As for the trucks, Stevens has a 'hit or miss' assignment method. You get what is available, so you could get a brand-new truck or one that has 200,000 miles on it. That's why they go with the 'bare bones' basic. Plus, they are in the business to make money, so they aren't gonna put any more money into it than they absolutely have to. The only reason they started putting APUs on the trucks is because so many areas are no longer allowing idling to keep warm/cool, plus it is a major fuel savings over idling.

Good luck and hope to see you on the road.

Hey since your flying in for orientation, are you paying for your flight or is stevens paying for it cause I start next month and I'm coming from Virginia and its a day and a half bus trip to Dallas

I called my recruiter to ask her is there anyway I can take a flight down there and she told me they only provide greyhound no matter where you are coming from

I equipped my truck with a good refrigerator, micro. I don't have a TV. Some drivers would give up a refrigerator for a TV To each his own.
But then Stevens would need to equip the trucks with TV's, refrigerators, microwaves, Playstations, and whatever else to satisfy the group...and then most people would abuse the equipment anyway.
I turned my truck in yesterday with 469,000 miles. As we went over it, Jim commented on how nice it was. But it's being sold...too old for the fleet.
He pointed out a T700 next to mine that had just come back. 188,000 miles and it looked like a roach. I'd put a hazmat suit on before entering that thing.
Stevens equips their fleet better than many others (APU, inverter) and leave the rest up to the driver.
People tend to take care of their own stuff better.

From what I remember, they will reimburse the cost of the bus ticket, so if you chose to fly, the rest of the cost is out of your pocket.

Love Field is much closer. It is the downtown airport. Stevens is in southeast Dallas.

You may buy your own plane ticket, and stevens will reimburse you up to $200 for the ticket. Loves field is closer to Stevens, but stevens runs shuttles from both for people coming into dallas for orientation.

Stevens flys students out of Loves, as that is southwests hub.

An abject lesson as to why drivers that have been with Stevens two years are in such great demand.
It's the habits you develop and don't think about.
Last night, as I was walking down the jetway to board my plane, the guy behind me said, "come on, come on...close up the gap".
I hadn't realized it, but I had set 6 seconds between me and the passenger in front of me.

They might only provide grehound but you can provide your own plane ticket but you only get reimbursed $200.00 of that
