This is why my husband likes to stay away from terminal mechanics unless he knows they have a good reputation.
He was po'd the one time when he worked with one company and they were supposed to work on his stack and didn't and a tire had a bolt in it. He raised more cain and able about it. The next they that he came into the shop the boss was on the floor watching and chewing out the mechanics. The tire was replaced plus the other ones without a word. I think they had done some changes in that particular terminal shop afterward and replaced a few people.
He takes the truck he has now to the dealer since it is under warranty which I think he will continue to do if needed.
He may not know everything there is to know about a truck, but he hates stupid too, esp when it comes to the upkeep of what is going to keep a person on the road. He drove for several months without powersteering with this other company because they would never get him routed to a termianl. Once he determined some things were under warranty with Volvo, there it went; on one occasion we sitting on their lot when he called to get the work po#; we had gotten to the point of not caring what they thought about where it went to get fixed when it broke.
Well good luck in what you are doing and keep sane. -

I get the drivers that know it all, when I have to tow them who tell me how to do the job...
One that I towed in one night to the local International dealer was a know it all, and he tried to tell me that all the way down to the dealer with his truck and trailer in tow.
As we got within a block of the dealership he seen a bar, and when we got to the dealer (this is night time) he asked if he was needed anymore. I told him no, and he took off to the bar with comments "I am going to get drunk tonight"...
Inside of me I was laughing, as he walked off...
About 5 to 10 minutes later he walked back and started to cuss me up one side and down the other.
"YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME IT WAS A GAY BAR"
I laughed and told him "but you knew everything when you were with me and telling me how to do my job, I figured that you knew it was !!!!!...
I laughed for about 2 miles on the way home remembering his expression...NavigatorWife, NDBADLANDS, truckmechanic and 3 others Thank this. -
HEY!! i told you all that in confidence now my secret is out! LOL
