I only have two complaints about this engine other than the lugging thing, and that is that its too quiet, also when the turbos whine its annoying, it doesn't sound cool like my Detroit did, its just high pitched and annoying.

How many turbos? I've got two. When they whine, it sounds like a real truck.

Guessing that the dealer should know about this? But then again, I picked my truck up 4 weeks ago and would think that it would have been updated before i picked it up!!

Depends, some dealers don't see these on a regular basis, so the tech's don't have the experience on what are the more common failures. The ECM cal is the same way. It might say current on scorecard system(this is what the tech goes off of), but there have been newer revisions released that haven't been reflected back on the scorecard system. I always say try to update regardless of what the scorecard says.

If you're passing through Janesville, WI, hit up the Lakeside International shop there. Had them work on my truck twice, both times after my company shops had tried to fix it multiple times. They were good, truck was fixed, and once they did an ECM update just because they checked to see if there was one for it, and there was. Seems like they got it together there...

I think the Maxx Force engines are crap. As far as new engines go, I rather have a Cummins ISX or Detroit DD series.

Maxxforce isn't a real engine, its a hamster in a ball running from a kitty.

I will say I'm surprised. It has started to really open up the more mikes I throw on her. She used to chug along and climb hills slower than a turtle, but something happened and most of that has changed. It climbs hills now like a champ, and even gets up and goes at gross weight like its nothing. So idk what happened but I guess someone woke it up.
