Walmart has had that no idle policy for yrs.I still idle there and never have been asked to turn off trk.I don't think they really care.I don't think alot of cops enforce the law either.I have never got a ticket for idleing. There's more trks then not that idle inspite of the law.Anybody with half a brain and common since knows why drivers idle and will leave them alone.

But states like Calif that hates trks I would be careful about idleing.I heard they have even gave tickets for reefers running.

We deliver to a place near Minneapolis that won't allow running the reefer or the tractor before 7AM, and another place in Highland Park,IL, where both must be shut down no matter what time it is. You can't pull around back there until 7AM. These aren't the only places we go that are funny about engine noise. The best example was at a store in Buffalo Grove, IL, I was told to deliver early and got there a couple hours later than that, and was still told I could be ticketed/arrested for being there before 7, but they had me back in and pull it off anyway.

    It isn't just California.

I guess I shouldn't complain about the places that don't care but are pains to go to anyway.

I remember delivering to a small wal mart in Kentucky. You couldn't come on the property before 7 and the dock was a pain to get into. Once empty they let me park on the side and told me I could stay there for my break if I needed to. Some stores are different then others.

My experiance in Cal is to stay away from the larger or name brand truckstops and you have no problems, never had to shutdown at any customer out there loading or unloading. that has just been my experiance, somebody elses may be different!

If u go up towards northern Cali on 99 they are more laxed ive found out. Never had problem up there but I do know you need a new Gen II reefer and APU that is carb certified.

if you dont need the obvious pointed out dont ask the obvious questions
i certainly couldnt blame you for wanting to stay comfortable BUT
for everyone that pees in a walmart parking lot throws out thier trash and idles against policy
100 other drivers will not have a walmart to park in later on
