Basically you start mon thru thurs usually get issued trk's on thurs afternoon. You do get a motel room to yourself. Pretty intensive background check and physical. Ihave never been lied too.
Biggest thing here is be honest and communicate. -
You will get a room to yourself at a pretty nice comfort inn. Jeff will take you to lunch everyday at a different restaurant. Make sure your ducks are in a row because they do a very through background and criminal on you. Physical is very through as well. You will do alot of web based training on computer off the company web site. Each person has a computer in front of them all forms are done on them. They are all very nice people. Just don't lie and communicate with them.
Most of all just do your job and be on time. Very big here keeping appointments. -
What do you mean by thorough physical? Everywhere I have seen, says just a DOT physical. When I stopped in to talk to them, they said they do their own physical but didn't say anything about anything more than the standard DOT.

it's all ergonomics you squat, lift, climb steps, carry tire chains, just to be sure you can do the job you pull on a bar which mimics opening a hood. Basically just replicates the motions that you go thru in the course of a normal day around a trk nothing to be scared of. But not your normal company dot phsical. Where you just answer some ?'s and turn your head and cough.
-
Ahhhh Jim, LOL, I haven't been around here for a while but I see you haven't changed much.

They have some of the worst trls out there and they do NOT take care of them

colobandit,
I would have to disagree with that statement. I have had nothing but quick response from our maintenance shop on any issues that I have addressed. I would agree that you may encounter some issues with the trailers, but I would also offer that you will find that with any company. I believe that generally when you encounter a problem with a trailer it is most likely from a trailer that was dropped by a driver and not reported to maintenance. It is unfortunate that we have drivers in this industry who care nothing about their fellow drivers, and will drop a trailer with issues and leave it for the next driver. Of course this is just my opinion. In any case I hope you are having a great day. Be safe out there. -
I responded to colobandit in a thread he started already so I won't regurgitate that here... After I replied I thought of something else though: if you are out there wondering about whether HB takes care of its equipment just look up the company CSA / Safestat score. I don't know what it is for equipment at the moment but I do know I get a lot of green lights on my PrePass as I go by scales. Good luck, Jim
-
I agree with you Jim. Seldom do I ever go through scales. Be safe!
