YOU'LL HAVE TO PRY MY 379 OUT OF MY COLD DEAD FINGERS. LONG LIVE THE LONG NOSE CONVENTIONAL!. THE AERO TRUCKS LOOK LIKE GARBAGE AND RIDE LIKE GARBAGE. WHO NEEDS ALL THAT ROOM? ALL YOU NEED IS A BED AND CLOSET. THE REST OF THE TIME YOU SHOULD BE OUT HAULIN FREIGHT NOT SITTIN AROUND TRASHIN IN TRK STOPS! BESIDES ALL THE CHROME AND STAINLESS AND LIGHTS AND WAXED UP NOTHIN IF FINER ALL TRK'S SHOULD BE LONG HOODS!:biggrin_25517:

Put you aero fuel squeezing tractor under this and see what happens to your fuel savings, bet you go slower and get worse mileage than my 379.

The old 379 went in the shop for a few days and had to drive the below truck for that time, was hard pressed to see 4.5 mpg average and that was pulling lighter loads because the truck was not registered or permitted to be more then 88,000 lbs rather then being the 105,500 that I was permitted to be in the 379. Don't think the Aero hood helped much at all. Also driven many of our 386s with the skirts etc on them and they did not get any better then low 4s grossing 105,500+ pulling our trailers.

Do you think Aero Trucks can't pull OS/OW loads?

Pulled this from IL to GA and got 7.49 mpg that a hood truck would do good to get 5 mpg pulling.

Once again you fail at getting the point of a post, I don't think the Old Man is saying a aero couldn't pull OS/OW he was just stating most aeros would not do well pulling that load compared his truck which is probably set up for that type of load. Maybe a hood with no mods and a driver doing 65 mph plus would be "good to get 5mpg". You like to compare your truck to all hoods but fail to mention all the money you have spent modifying yours and about how you drive at 57 mph in your reply's. I'm sure a hood set up just like your truck driven the same as you drive yours pulling that would do better than 5 MPG, yes maybe not as good as yours but not as bad as you would like people to think. So are you saying all areo trucks pulling that load would do better than any hood pulling it?
