    hubby and I considering O/Operator starting with one truck. I have looked online to see what the average price per mile in NC to most of east coast, FL, GA, PA, NY, NJ, SC, MD on dry consumer goods like electronics, furniture, even seasonal items like produce (pumpkin, watermelons,christmas trees etc), bottled water etc? I was thinking average is $2.10/mile for such things minus gas mileage, wear and tear and mileage ava. 37cpm for the driver? I am working on a business plan, pretty much have everything exept the figures. Anyone knows a free website I can get such info? Am looking for industry trend but every website is asking me to pay but I know I can get it for free somewhere? Anyone pls?

    Rates fluctuate like the weather , better to know your TOTAL COST PER MILE then divide by .79 and that is the lowest rate you want to run for.

    not to mention that is a one way rate would imagine if you were trying to get straight back from the east coast that rate drops significantly

    Out and right back often won't work. Rates out may be good but rates back could be poop. So you do something like a tri haul, like Atlanta to indianapolis, then indy to nashville, then nashville back to atlanta. I just pulled those cities out of my butt, I have no idea on their rates, just making an example.
