the one's I saw at TarpStop did not have a stop-nut either, but it would be a good idea, because if it didn't then it would just back-off as you bounced down the road.superhauler Thanks this.

The ones I saw at the Gary store did.SHC Thanks this.

The pin holding the handle on? I've had mine two years, now, and no problems, yet.
-
Yeah, the 1st one just fell out at some point and the handle was laying in my headache rack. the 2nd one snapped while I was using it. I may have just gotten a bad batch tho?
I also checked out the removable handle ratchets at the Gary shop but they didn't have a stop nut that i saw, but I might have been looking at the wrong ones or just didnt pay much attention.
To be honest, have any of you ever had a ratchet binder stolen while you had a load on the deck??? I wonder how often that happens, as I've not had it happen to me yet, and all my stuff is nice and shinny-new still
Those locking handle one's Autocar has would be really nice if you carried lumber on the deck or your tarps, that way you could lock the handle and they couldn't take 'emskellr Thanks this. -
So far, no thefts. Knock on wood.
I do keep all the moving parts pretty well lubricated. After each use, I hang them on the rub rail and run them all the way out, spray them down with either CRC or WD40 and then put them up.
Which is why I am always the last one to leave, after unloading. I do the maintenance on my equipment as I put it away, so I know it's all ready to go when I need it. I'm kinda anal about that.CAXPT Thanks this. -
They are nice and one advantage is they take up less storage room
-
No doubt about it.

Guess I'll go ahead and order some of these and try them out. I don't get by that way often enough to pick them up.

I have found, and so have many others, that even with the shipping costs, TarpStop is cheaper than most places.skellr Thanks this.
