Maybe the hope will be, not going to hold my breath though..is that his lawsuit changes the way these. Co's pull this lease scam...it might open up a can of worms so to speak & expose these fleece deals as fraudlant ponzi scheme operation.

i'm a Aug 2003 England School Grad, and i have to say, the claims made in the papers files, are pretty much the same crap as i heard, when i went thru the school.
Luckly, however, i grew up around the trucking industry, had cousins, who owned thier own trucks, knew a thing a two about the fleece programs these schools offered. And made me promise them , that iwould never sign a fleece prgram with any company. Which i gladly promised them to.

That aside, in 2003, they would push the fleece program info onto the new studants,at least once a day for 1-2 hours,, even the first day of school they tried to push it. I had already made up my mind, No i was not going to lease,
and i did not for the year that i was there.
I told the recruiter up front, I know abou thier lease program, i'm not interested, i'm paying you good money to learn how to drive a truck. Nothing more.
They left it at that, even though i did have to still attend the damnd informatioanl meetings about it during the course of the school.
Once i was put on my training truck, i got to know my trainer,a company driver trainer, and he was very open with me. He flat out said, i'm suppose to tell you about the lease program, but from what you have told me in 30 min. I'm not going to bother. And between you and i, yes i can see it's a rip off, for the new driver, who get SUCKERED into it.
Fast forward to the end of my over the road phrase, graduate 2nd in the class, get my own pos of a truck, and down the road i went.
Two weeks later brought back to slc, was told to turn my truck in, ,, go to the shop telll them who you are, they will put you in another truck. The other truck was a brand new 2004 Centuary.
I said to them , whats the catch, they said there was none, why did you say that? So i mentioned that this could be a way to get me to sing onto a lease. They said no it wasn't a trick, your a company driver, and since you did so well in school, your being rewarded with a new truck.
And now days, i read/ hear they will make you sit in slc until you take the lease program, i just shake my head.
I'm glad i left after a year as a company , non training driver.
I hope these two guys, nail England to the wall. Just one thing to hope for, don't have the trail in UTAH, you will not get a impartail jury, because utah is where the lds church is located, the england family is big lds members, so a jury in utah is going to have lds members sitting on it, and of course, they will find in favor of the england's out of fear that if they go the other way, they mite get 'repremanded, but thier church leaders for going agianst, the englands.
Yes it does happen this way there, and parts of idaho, wyo, and Az. I grew up in Idaho when the church has a strong hold, i seen it from first hand how it can be .

I actually talked with a CR trainer the other day. He said he made money as a team but none as a solo and had pretty good luck with them. In 20+ yrs of driving that was the first positive story on that company I've heard. Drove out west for several years and was through Utah a lot and ran across them all of the time. I would not go near that company for any money and with all of the companies out there offering lease/purchase why would you? If your all set, against the advice of everyone, to try a lease do it with someone else like Prime that is in the business of leasing trucks.

Why even bother wasting our breath, and time reading this. Because we ALL know, in 2 weeks time, there will be another thread started under "Don't work for CRE" "CRE is a scam" "Screwed by CRE" "CRE recruiter promised me this, and I didn't get it" "I was told I'd make this much, and now I'm homeless" and so on......Life is like a ##### sandwich, the more bread you have the less ##### you gotta eat....

I guess I am one of those idiots or brain damaged people (according to one poster) who went to work for CRE out of truckdriving school....the school pushed the 7 of us to sign on with CRE, 6 of us went to work there right out of school. I worked there 4+ years starting in 97, 3 of which I had the same driver manager whom I liked and trusted. I was ALWAYS a company driver, as I understood right off the bat that the lease was a rip off though I can remember drivers who became friends that did it and some who ended up losing a lot in savings as well as truck. BUT not all CRE employees pushed lease and those I respected always cautioned against it privately at least at the time I worked there although after I left I heard some stories of long time drivers being forced to quit, train or lease :( I left because I was tired of making 29 1/2 cpm, running "hot team loads" as a solo driver... I was burned out...and even at that I can say there were some good memories I have and friendships I made being at CRE. And yes before I went to CRE I heard how terrible it was on internet forums of the time but I still went...so guess I was kind of brain challenged LOL!!!!
