The ability to walk away is why I lease a truck, especially these days with all the emissions junk on there that most people don't yet know how to fix. No way would I go out and buy a 2012. If it's a lemon, you're stuck. If mine is a lemon, I clean it out, turn it in, and shake hands, and move on.

Rednready I spoke with a solo today who has been with jct for 3 years, he is very happy as is his wife. He showed me his qc with all his weekly deductions on it. Very impressive I thought. Been through Prime's garbage many moons ago and this is nothing like them. Much better. Myself and hubby will be starting the first week of october look forward to seeing everybody. Have a Blessed day
123456 Thanks this. -
He was a strange one when I met him in person...nice guy, but strange. He was young too. 25 tops. His story was that they had to rewire his entire truck due to the previous lessor installing his own stereo system. More likely what it was is that they were awaiting his drug test results, and they came back positive in the end...hence the sudden drop off the earth.
The problem with his story was that, if JCT had to rewire his entire truck, they would have either A: Given him a loaner truck, or B: let him pick out a different truck. They don't just let their drivers sit in a hotel for weeks on end. If I'm wrong, I'll take my lashings...but I don't think I am.
JCT has treated me very fairly. I average a net take home of around $900-$1000/wk. That's getting an average of 3000 miles/wk. Sometimes more...rarely less than 2800 miles. I have a 2012 Cascadia. It's governed at 68, but I drive 60 everywhere I go. That 8 mph is the difference between 6.2-6.4 mpg's and 7.4-7.8 mpg's. It took me some very small paychecks to realize that. Fuel can and will make you or break you at JCT. You can drive fast, but you'll find it hard to make money. Some of the staff are ########, but the good ones more than make up for the bad ones. Typical BS...not returning calls; not telling anybody what's going on; etc. My biggest beef with them is that they told me during orientation that, if our trucks did not have an apu, we would have to wait 3 months to get one. When my 3 month anniversary came, I was told that I was put on a "waiting list," and that it would be another 3 months before I could get one. Otherwise, they expect you to be a big boy/girl. They give you a load and a date/time to deliver it. The rest is up to you. Some people that come from training companies where they've had their hand held every step of the way can't handle the change. Seeing as you have 10 years in, you should have no problem.
I would give JCT a 9/10.rednready and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
I drover for JCT, Personal I think there a great company, I had to leave last OCT. because of a illness in my family, the only problem, I see lately with them is the trucks there buying these days, there company set up truck, not O/O pec'd, and yes your right gysgt, about the 72000, but thats before interest to, on that 72000, you will probably pay back with interest around 100,000, If you can get qualified, and/or have a sizable down payment, with JCT, you might pay a bit more, but you dont need good credit or a down, and you finish the lease?, its your truck, I know many that have paid off there trucks, you can do and they wont screw you when your lease is about up
-
not disagreeing with you but why would they send him out in his truck and all that stuff without knowing if he passed a drug test?
-
They started screwing that pooch when they got those Prostar's. He got such a good deal on them, and now he can't keep them on the road! The main reasons they are getting all Cascadias now is they are cheap, good on fuel, easy to fix, and you can buy parts for them practically anywhere. I like my Cascadia, but it does feel cheap in places. the closet doors are extremely flimsy, and the latches might as well be made out of paper. My biggest pet peeve is that the seats squeak like no tomorrow. It drives me insane! Other than that, it's quiet, pulls good, rides great, and has lots of room! I do wish he would pick up some Coronado's though. I would swap into one of those in a heartbeat!
They didn't...that's the thing. He never left the yard with his truck. -
there are much better deals but if you dont have money and want to own a truck its ok. Only problem - home time
-
sounds to me like he left the yard, company wont let you drive a truck without passing a drug test -
Besides how bad of a botched up stereo install warrants a TRUCK being REWIRED
-
I have had no issues with home time. You can go whenever you want to. You just have to remember that the truck payment is due and it doesn't stop because you go home.
Yeah it does. Like I said: if I am wrong, I'll take my lashings.
My point exactly.
