Hey Adk, congrats on all the exciting life changing events in your life.
We got PP'd before we made our delivery in Hopkinsville, KY on a load from Alton, IL to Morris, IL for a total of 475 paid miles. Its very rare for me to get a load with that much deadhead (250 miles), but I guess that was their way of getting us to Markham for Patty's upgrade. We have been sitting at the TA in Morris since about 1500 right across the street from our 0930 delivery and are hoping to be to the terminal before noon. BTW, this place has a pretty decent restaurant by truck stop standards.
Miles for the week are shaping up pretty good, between Friday and Sunday, we ended up with a total of 2012 paid miles. So with my left overs from last week, we're sitting at about 3000 miles for this check plus whatever we get from now until Wednesday if we get her upgraded.
Hoping to get rolling as a full fledged team before midweek!

Hey there any drivers in here go into Canada. I have a passport and want to I was just wondering what's the driving was like up there anything really different than driving in the US. As a new driver I don't want to go getting my self into a bad situation. Any advice is welcomed!

I have done Canada. Driving no issue really except Quebec where all of the signs are in French only. VERY expensive since your cell will cost you .50 to .65 cents a minute. Generally just a pain in the a ss. You will only do Canada with USX if you are on the dedicated fleet generally. We did a repower for a dedicated team since we had passports.Wedge Thanks this.

we did it a few times before the passport thing. not big deal just make sure the paperwork is right BEFORE you try to go in

Welllll we are back on the road...sorta. Got to the truck at 815 this morning to load back up with fresh clothes and food and a new cooler and my team mate showed up about 830 and with a PTA set for 0900 I thought we would have a pre assign waiting. I have the USX iPhone app and nothing had came over that but I thought maybe it was just messed up and was hoping the DT had a nice trip waiting for us. Well that turned out to be wishful thinking. So I call up my FM and he seem completely oblivious to the fact that we came back out today but said he'd get with the planners. So we sat around for about 2 hours and after that I decided to run down the road quick with the wife and run a few quick errands. Still nothing after that so the wife myself and my teammate went out for some lunch and then ran a few more errands trying to kill time. Came back to the truck. Still nothing. Ok well at this point we've waited like 6 hours so I decided to just drive back to my house 20 mins away an wait there for a call or PP over the USX app. Finally about 9 hours after our orginal set PTA we get a PP. back off to the truck we go. Had to call the fuel dept before taking off because they have a set fuel stop way to far on the little amount we have left(we dead headed 3.5 hours home). Not many pilots or anything for that matter in Ny so we had to go about 30 mins north out of our way to get to a pilot. Got on the road and it was fairly smooth sailing except for heavy rains and hail and wind and some traffic to Newark. Got to the first stop of our 2 stop trip here in Newark and the guy in shipping tells me I'm just picking up paperwork and have to make it 10 miles through Newark in 12 minutes before the next place closes. So I hurried on out the door and got here 2 mins after 10pm and met up with the last guy leaving for the night. He tells me they haven't had anyone here for over a hour to load anything and I will have to wait till 7am now. GREAT!! So I get on the horn with night dispatch and we all know how well that went....so needless to say I'm stuck in a parking lot in the middle of Newark NJ hoping someone calls us and says drop trailer and go pick something else up!

Always call your FM the day before you are ready to go back out. That is the only way to set your PTA for sure. I always call him up and tell him to give me a call when something comes in because I live less than 10 minutes from where I park the truck.

Yeah that's what I'm gonna have to do next time I go home. Thanks for the tip!

Also, always fuel before you get home. Just call the fuel department and ask for a fuel stop. It will still be on your old pro number.
HarleyGoat, Tomegg, ATL-1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah I said to myself next time I was gonna get ffuel on the way home next time. I had been out for awhile and was real anxious to get home so I didn't feel like stopping that night lol. That and we had just gotten out of a ton of traffic so it was a treat at that time to open it up and cruise

Got my home load set up for tomorrow morning. I should be eating supper at the house tomorrow night! Woo hoo!! Only one day late, I might add. I didn't have anything scheduled this time, so no big deal. I'm pretty sure this run will be my load home most of the time. Iron mountain in frederick md to same in richmond va.
