Our Pete the brakes don't work worth crap they have been adjusted and pads are decent but just doesn't stop well. Our flatbed has the same issue and it's hooked to a different truck. Don't here any air leaks from either well the Pete I can hear air sometimes when I hold the pedal coming from parking brake valve.

Sounds like your S-cam bushings are dry and are seizing up.
-
Replace? And this could be the problem with both? Could the drums be a factor?
-
Kinked line on the trailer? Are the cams/slack adjusters working correctly? Do the brakes come off okay, can you roll the wheels when the system gets charged with air?
-
Working on the Pete now will update that info later. The trailer is getting some suspension work now won't know about that unroll Wednesday
-
Well greased them adjusted again still don't seem to brake right but if you mash on the pedal they will lock up and stop just doesn't work right on normal braking
-
have u had someone press the brakes while someone is under the trailer to see exactly what is happening when the brakes are applied?
-
When you have delayed braking action at the top of pedal travel then as you depress further the brakes lock up and try to throw you through the windshield it indicates a faulty foot valve. The other clue you gave was air leaking through the park valve at times. The air is most likely leaking out the foot valve exhaust when this occurs.

The trailer we won't get back from shop till Wednesday then I can address that one. I thought about foot valve to and it seemed like it was coming from brake valve when I held the pedal down but could be wrong. So if the foot valve is bad I will get results like that where normal braking not so good and when the pedal is mashed to the floor it brakes?
-
Well I'll get a foot valve tomorrow and put it on and update.
