Good luck flamethrower.
Bad z it was the knight fleet not Centrals
Thanks for all the data you guys. I had a Volvo with a Cummings in it and it had a ton more power than the cascadia I'm in now. After 80k the Cascadia seemed to take a leape in preformance. I average 7.5mpg (8.3 over the last week) so once its broken in the dd15 seems to be working well.
or maybe I'm just used to it now (it broke me in)

5.5 hours at us foods so far. Best of all I'm now 90 minutes late to stop 04. Goodbye 984 mile load, goodbye 3300 mile week. Sometimes you just can't catch a break.
-
I have to ask. You guys getting miles - how do you do it? I got delayed at a shipper and had to sit there for 6.5 hours. I was on time, but the delay kept me from making my 99 (4 stop load) so it was pushed until tomorrow. My nexttwo presets were taken off (totaled 1700 miles) and replaced with a load that doesn't deliver until Thursday, and it's only 675 miles. Every week it's something, and rarely my own fault. How do you keep moving? How do you make a profit (l/o's) when stuff like this happens, or, conversely, how do you prevent getting stuck with stuff like this?
-
Day 1 in the books look forward to tomorrow so far looks like I made the right decision to coming to Central
-
Well, I applied to Central today. Figured I would wait until tomorrow to call and harass them. Hopefully they'll have some good news for me.

P4p I understand what you mean. I am running about 6hrs behind the last 3 days and not really my fault. My DM presets me for a week at a time. I trip plan and let them know where it's going to be tite and as soon as it looks like I'm going to be late get on the qualcom.
For example 99 was at Puallyup dc for fred myers at 0430. Next 01 was at 0700 in Eugene, OR 4hrs away. Let dm know before mac 11 is sent on load 2. Dm responds I've worked it out get to 99asap and swap trailers. Load info says JIT 15min early, and no drop. Send a qc "load info says no no, whats the deal" response "I worked it out just roll and it will be fine" so I get there at 0030 and get told to come back at 0400. Then they take 5hrs to unload me. As soon as I got sent away I was calljng and qcing letting them know what was going on. Made it to 01 at 1330 and got loaded, luckily there was a 10hr window (always ask about the window a lot of dms wont tell drivers about them because they think they will slack off). Hustled down to the 99 which again dm said "this is kraft dedicated drop and hook is our middle name" so we get there at 0300 and reciving does not open until 0800 so I take a nap. At 0745 I'm at the window asking what door I need to be in (I have a 1300 appointment 4hrs away) some lacky shows me what dock to bump and says wait for the reciver hes running late. I qc "not going to make 01@1300" after 2 hrs I grab a pallet jack and start pulling pallets off. Then wow the reciver is here. I get out of there at 1230 (I wohld not let them go to lunch when I had 3 pallets left on my truck. Make it to 01 at 1700 and have been a work in for the last 5 hrs. We have plenty of time to get to the 99, but our backhaul picks up 2 days before our delivery.
Basicly keep on the qc, if they call and tell you something follow up with a "per our phone conversation" msg and show them you are doing all you can. I have had loads pulled in the past, but am on the qc demanding a better load pointing out the planning errors were not mine. May sound like a lot of work, but you do what you got to do to get the miles.
With the load you got now, get it there asap and send a mac 5 everytime you stop, followed up with a 1 saying "I'll be there early, where shohld I drop it or where is my new appointment time?" It's also worth a shot calling the reciver. I have had more people happy I got there early than were upset. There are some you can not change (fred myers, Walmart, mccain, big boys) and those you push for the drop. Find out where drop yards are. Make your dms job easy " I'll be passing drop location xyz, do you have something there that needs to move?" Keep it up in a few weeks you will start seeing better loads. I don't know if that means they think you are doing good or if they just don't want you to keep bugging them. Either way you are getting what you want, more miles.
Hope that helps. -
Good job flametamer! Are you at the wvc school?
Runwild a day is a good time to wait. I submitted my app at 1800 one night and was called at 1000 the next day. Remember they are on mountain time when yoh call. I have heard of a lot of people who say they have a hard time getting a hold of their recruters. Maybe they do it on purpose to see who wants it enough to follow up. Who knows other than the recruting department?
Also I start school back up this week so I may be scarce for the next 12 weeks, but then I'll have a masters in supply chain management!!!!

I requested a drop on this when I 11'd it. It's going to ut, and I'll be driving right by crswvc. She said let her know when I'm loaded, so I'll keep on her. I always run my hours as early as possible and get as close as possible to the 99, but I haven't had much luck getting early delivery. Either way though, the sooner you run the hours, the sooner they come back as recap.
With my current load I had a 0830 at stop 03 (got there at 0725) and an 1130 at stop 99. I called my dm at 1000 saying I'd be late to the 99, and weasled a 1230 etd out of the lumpers. My dm got with cx service and got "get here by 1430 and well take it." but that too was missed because they didnt get me out of there until 1404 (it was 16 miles through the la area, and I still had to pull out, reseal, and check out with security) I'm always trying to stay in contact and fix problems before they occur.
As far as drop yards, how do you learn where they are other than dropping at them? Do we have a list somewhere?
Also, good luck with school, I'd love to do that myself, but I can't figure out how to without being able to get to meetings, unless I spend an arm and a leg at an online only school, and I need both arms and both legs to drive this thing! -
thanks. i was looking for someone to do the leg work for me. WINK.
they've only gone up 20k since i started this crap profession
