That's how it was with me. 6-8 weeks out. But that's how you make the big bucks in this industry.

Bill retired last month.
Danny is still there.
Jeremy Dilgy, Jonathan (produce), Smokie, just to name a few. -
Have to ask Danny if he remembers routing a driver from Chicago to Denver around every scale with a load that was 2,000lbs over gross and who barely missed being pinched at the Nebraska/Colorado state line at a porable scale set up by the Nebraska DOT but they were too busy with bullracks and waved him on by!
I remember reporting the overweight load to night dispatch when I scaled out at the old Bolingbrook, IL truckstop and them telling me to take off fuel and I was like, yeah, how do you get rid of 2,000 lbs worth of fuel?
That truck sure rode smooth though. -
then why did a recruiter tell me i had to make 10,000 a year to get into school through stevens?
-
Minimum requirements of Stevens. Figure if you haven't made $200 per week, you probably aren't going to stick it thru.
Now if you're been on unemployment, or full time student, they'll waive that requirement. -
It kills me where some people get there info on here.
I was reading a post on here I think it was page 1 or 2 where this dude said it doesn't matter how long you have drove before if you haven't drove in 2 months you have to take a refresher course again. Lol
Thats the craziest thing I have heard on here ever. Wow
That dude really need to do his homework -
Even Emusified had to do a refresher. -
Yea that's probably true but its not 2 months or even 6 months out of not driving. I know 3 guys who are currently out with a trainer, well one of them is in grad phase now. But they got there cdl from a school and waited over 6 months before applying with stevens and they went straight into orientation. They didn't have to do a refresher. That probably was there policy a few years ago. -
There are hundreds, if not thousands of people standing around with a CDL that want to work.
Companies can afford to be fussy.
There's no shortage of driver wanna bes.
