GBNF, the words I highlighted in the post I quoted... those kinds of statements drive away alot of posters who do have information to offer. It drives them away because, through no fault of their own, they simply cannot spell. And the forum loses.
GoneButNotForgotten, bullhaulerswife, aiwiron and 1 other person Thank this. -
There is no "accepted club" on this forum. Any member can be banned, or sent on "vacation" if the Mods decide such action needs to be taken. Do not mistake the Mods being busy watching over the entire forum as acceptance for improper behavior.
If you see improper behavior taking place, click the little black triangle with the exclamation mark in it to bring the offending post to the Mods attention, and if there is improper behavior taking place the Mods will deal with it appropriately. Just don't think you can abuse the little triangle, or the Mighty Mods will focus their attention on you!Speedemon1084, Admin, bullhaulerswife and 5 others Thank this. -
Amen,
They talked about that club often, heck after a few wood shampoos and a dog bit or two he will catch on. Problem is I am older and do not heal fast at all.:smt079 -
OOohhh...THAT "accepted club". Yeah, I've felt that one a time or two, myself. I think GuysLady has it specially treated so the wounds it leaves don't heal as quickly as normal. GuysLady can be a big meany at times.
I'm gonna run away now, before GL gets me with that club again. I just finished healing from the last time, and my head doesn't need anymore dents!TRKRSHONEY, aiwiron, bullhaulerswife and 2 others Thank this. -

You are right....there is no accepted club here.
I have people who are friends that are members of this forum....if I feel they need banned or whatever I will generally handle it....if for some reason I think there is a conflict of interest I will ask another mod or admin to handle the situation. Nobody is above or immune to the rules of the site.
There are also times when a member gets away with something simply because with the volume of posts that are made on this site the volunteer staff can't possible read them all. That's why we really appreciate it when the members help police the site by reporting posts, it helps make this the best truckers site on the internet.Last edited: Jul 24, 2012

I am appreciative to everyone that directed comments toward me. I am on this forum quite often, but a poster very rarely. I guess to try and reiterate my point (I didn't do very well last time), I did not post saying that the OP was right, my point is that they had a concern, and being a somewhat new member of this forum, felt that they should post their observations. In these "spelling" threads, all too often I see the OP get bashed and that to me is just as bad as what everyone alledges the OP has done. (Does that make sense to anyone else?) )I quite enjoyed the back and forth between the OP and M-T!
GuysLady, Hitman, bullhaulerswife and 1 other person Thank this. -
Basically what I am getting from all this is commonly misspelled words is more of the fault of a medical condition than pure laziness. Exactly what is the ratio? I'm not here to advocate ridicule. I'm here to wonder why nobody takes ten seconds to use a spell check tool. I get that people have trouble. Fine. But nobody on this forum is going to convince me that the number of those who have a condition outweigh the people who do not.

This is one topic in a section of the forum which has a much smaller percentage of traffic than the sections that are clustered with butchered grammar......so I'm selling this statement.
Besides, I'm still suffering from shock on how there are more people putting forth the effort to nullify anyone outspoken about this, rather than defend the English language. Go ahead, dismember common words. We will just assume you have a condition which evidently, did not interfere with typing the URL, signing in, browsing the net, reading text..... -
OK, am I missing something or did someone using the name "Common dude" delete their comments?? If not, you are just as guity as those you are 'griping' about!! The phrase you can't seem to grasp is "Come on, dude".
