The shipper uses the broker as the dirty devil who handles the pawn and they are being squeezed just like the trucker.

first of all, good for you, the two guys waiting for 1.5 weeks for the $3/mile load. Unfortunately, I make money over a dollar/mile and while you've been waiting I hauled one load 70 miles for 10.35/mile, one load 635 miles for 2.76/mile, and one load 80 miles for 4.56/mile which also got me to the house. If you want to be a truckstop camper, that's good for you but don't come on here telling people that's the right way to truck. I'm glad your $/mile average is glorious but what we're really after is net/year and or net/week.

p.s.- and actually that's what I've done in the last two days, not 1.5 weeks. yes, I had a couple of good days but I'm really tired of these sit on your butt and wait for good loads guys. get good loads when you can, yes it's okay to slow down a little from time to time. but keep your ### moving and get to the good loads too.

Wait for 1.5 weeks ?? your math sucks if you think that is good trucking.

I'd sit for a month before I wasted my whole day making a whopping $365

Thank God America wasn't built on that mentality to grow to where we are (were) today. If Walmart took that notion and applied it to EVERY item they stock, fatboy would be crying over $17 packages of toilet paper and $10 lb hamburger meat. That's like the kid who worked his ### off trying to appear busy and stay out of sight so his father wouldn't give him a job to do. To each his own, I guess.

Any time I make a phone call for a load which is clearly listed with 1 pick and 1 Drop, No touch. As I call, first off all the extension they post I get connected to the designated person. This person who is supposed to be the owner of the load, 90% of the time is clueless about the load. Then he will call some one else after putting me on hold and come back with a price which is totally ridiculous. For example coming to OH from Northeast is $1.25/ mile if you lucky. Going back is supposed to be close to be $3.00/mile, to average out to $2/mile so that you can stay in business. But I have made numerous calls to any listing that pops up on board they are telling me about $2/mile. Which is not possible to do. I called up on CB to find out what others are doing, they said will not touch a load less that $3.0/mile going Northeast. Some of the loads might be posted with a reasonable rate, but when I call they will say a lower number than what's posted. It is not possible for these brokers to go against some one who never had any problem with them. Yet TQL has beaten me out of hours of detention and Allen Lund is sitting on my $3000 on a load I did for them last year. Bond refused to help and the court also does not want to make any decisions either. There were no problems on our end at all whatsoever, load was delivered promptly and professionally. They took 5 hours to load and 7 hours to unload. They must have planned on it because they beat me out of Fuel Advance even after sending them emails and phone calls. All the receipts, BOLs , Times in / out computer printout from shipper and receiver provided. You name it we have provided, but end result is nil. That's why I think Hoochee man is behind all this crap.

Do you work for the Brokers or for yourself??
Secondly the reason why you were able to negotiate those rates because of the answers they got from us two few minutes ago. Unless otherwise you will have never booked what you just did. Lets take a turn and let us make that negotiation and you wait for a day or two???

Where is America today? Most blue collar jobs that remain in America pay wages so low that there is no possibility of supporting a family. It's ok, guys like you are thankful for the opportunity to make someone else rich.

An 80 mile run ties your truck up for the whole day and you need to be compensated accordingly. $600 minimum and even that is low, should be more like $800.

You don't like my mentality of not working for pennies but that is what enables me to be able to sit for that whole month. You're right, to each his own.

Just got done talking to Fetch Logist on the following load from Carlisle OH to Disputanta VA. It is listed with 1 pick 1 drop but she says there is an extra stop in it, was supposed to be ext 222 Sierra. But they never put her on the phone and some one else allways answers. The Mechanicsburg PA stop was added and rate was droped to $1250- $1300 instead of $1400 or 1500 which has been posted for these loads ( 1 p 1d no touch) last week when I was hoping to get a load to Northeast, but so far no good. You tell me if you get 90% of the time a trash person on the other end or only 20% of the times it is a bad guy on the other line?

And yeh they just relisted the same load with a different name to cover it up.
