Brianvitro, yeah I've spent a good portion of my free time reading over reviews by drivers from companies over the last month and it seems to me there is good and bad no matter where you go. But it is what you make of it. I have enjoyed reading Wedge's Thread and it sounds good. I put in my app last night and just waitng to here from them. I will keep you posted. Thanks.

Hello There.
Trips and Stats
OK.....Let me re-phrase my last statement...........I WOULD be happy with 2400+ miles for the week.
Last week pay settlement: 1,986 miles............................But I can explain.
After playing "Pick-a-Trip" with dispatch, I took a run from Burlington, IA to Independence, KS, paid miles: 517. My routing took me west on US 34 until I could pick up I 35 and head south. The first place I could reach that could scan in my trip sheet (that I know of) was the Pilot in Kearney, MO. I thought I got it in soon enough but apparently not.
I can hear you all saying to yourself: "Why doesn't he get in-cab-scanning?"
You're all right. Why doesn't he........I......ahhemmmm..........Why don't I get a scanner? That's now first on my list. 30% of the time I find myself no where near a TS that can scan in my documents, and many times I find trips end up carrying over to the next pay period.
First USX terminal I come to........I'm getting a scanner.
Next trip: picks up in Arkansas City, Kansas and delivers in Joliet, IL, paid miles: 774. The delivery date was a little long and I contacted my FM about getting the green light for an earlier delivery appointment.
She checked with customer service......."Negative on the early del."...................Dang!
And then the DT blurped out an appointment change pushing back the delivery appointment even further.........Dang!
She followed up with a phone call "Run that load into Markham."
DT spits out a drop number, so I ran the load to our MarKham terminal, parked, and took advantage of the opportunity to get some free laundry done.
I wake up next morning to a pair of pre-plans: 1) run that load I hauled into Markham to the receiver, deliver by 1800. 2) Pick up a load in University Park, IL, that has 2 stops: 1st in Cape Giradeau, MO, 2nd in Paducah, Ky, Paid miles: 425, plus stop pay.
I like that name........Paducah.................Hey! Put up your paducahs, pal!
I got all my laundry done, but the terminal manager is gone, and won't be back until Monday............I'm not sticking around here 'till Monday. It'll have to wait until I get home.
So I'll sit it out here in Markham and then run that load to the receiver tonight. And then I'll head over to pick up in University Park and head south. This run has some margin on it, and that's fine with me. My 70 is running low again so I look at this as an easy weekend run.
Ok. Let's see...............It's Saturday..............1,738 miles in the bank............rolling out in a few hours..............this could work.
Unless I end up parked on the side of a dirt road somewhere in Kentucky for 2 days.................
Na!
Time for popcorn and a movie.
Thanks for reading.

Sounds like a good way to spend the day Wedge.
Wedge Thanks this. -
Not bad wedge. Seems like you have some good people at least on the other end of your phone calls and DT messages. I wish I was so lucky! Lol. It's been a rough week for me and my team mate. Made less miles than I did as a solo driver!!! I thought teams got more miles...apparently 99% do just not us haha. Tryin to keep positive and hope this next week picks up! I think changing FMs is going to happen in the near future though. Ours is quite rude and just plain doesn't seem interested in hearing any problems we have and everytime I call in he sounds very annoyed like I've interrupted his day. Idk we are gonna see how this week goes and then possibly ask for a new FM if this guy can't shape up.
Also been tossing around the idea of getting on the dollar general account. Anyone know much about it? Heard there's good money to be made in it and I like the sound of home weekly. I know the wife will love that! -
We were in Markham on Wed. Had to run some short rail yards. Finally a load toward home time. Made it home only a day late. We will take an extra day on the back end. Wedge I scanned in on Wed. and it showed up on the check. 6,000+ miles, next week will be way short. I guess it averages out over time.

Hey Wedge...as you know I haven't started driving yet, but I have done lots of research including the TransFlo system and what that is all about. I guess it is how you get paid by scanning in your BOL or another paperwork. In any case I did come across the TripPak system for in-cab scanning. I saw that if you have a smartphone you can download their app for free so you don't have to buy the scanner which is expensive. Of course you have to have a smartphone and more importantly has to have a good camera and good natural lighting to get a good shot of the text on the paperwork. Again it looks pretty good, but of course I have no way of knowing till I get out there and try it myself. I'm sure you have heard of this company and already probably know if it is any good or not. They do show USX on the list of approved companies that use the TripPak software to send in paperwork.
I'm a real tech guy...love my gadgets so things like this appeal to me...one of the reasons I choose USX with their DriverTech and side camera systems.
The DicemanJeremyc Thanks this.
