Industrial, contruction, power units, etc run on the govenor all day long. As the man said, it is nice to give 'em alittle break now and then but they will take it if nothing is wrong. If something is wrong, your going to still going to have the problem, just may take a little longer to show up?

At least you got high oil pressure at high rpms.

Won't hurt nothing except your wallet. You won't be burning much fuel if it's flat land, just what you need to push through the air at 70mph.

Why's everyone in a hurry anyway?

No hurry just probably trying to keep up with speed limits and not hold people up.

Id say someone's in a hurry if they doing over the limit not just the limit.

In reality you never run 100% at your maximum speed. There will probably be closer to 20min then 40min per day difference.
So I guess @ 65 mph you will save $25 per trip on diesel alone and cost yourself at most 30min.
