First couple of weeks on the job, I weighed all of my loads wrong. Once I got my truck on the truck scale, I listed the total weight instead of the total weight of the full truck minus the weight of the empty truck to see the weight of the load. Needless to say, I sent in completely wrong numbers, but I was able to fix the situation with a little math.

I wonder what's harder to weigh: a truck, a plane, or an elephant...?

my stupidest mistake was riding the drop lot looking for my trailer
finding it hooking it all up started pretrip and realized i had backed into trailer beside mine
wouldn't have been too bad but the name national on the side was a dead giveaway....sigh

Truckers are a proud bunch, I wouldn't try to embarass them while they struggle... I will watch though to make sure they don't drive off after crushing the mirrors of their neighbor.

Reminds on something I saw yesterday.

New guy comes in, empty flat bed. Now, there is a truck parked in the driveway where it says no parking. I watch has he makes the corner, and crushes the front of the other guy. Now, mind you the other truck in is a no parking zone. Who's at fault? I'd say the illegally parked one. Another O/O comes over has I'm getting out, "Just drive off, he shouldn't be parked there anyways." Advice taken. The CB was full of that, just a bunch. "Dang skateboard, tore him him up."

    .

I'm not surprised by the mentality of some drivers. Sounds like it would be a hit and run, instead of just a hit. . It is the responsibility of other drivers to make their way around the vehicle, no matter how annoyed or distracted they may be.

I want to know the no parking guy will explain that to his boss.
