Hello to all. I live in Austin, TX and am looking to get into the Glass Division. Apparently, they just opened the hiring area to Austin and I have been told that I will be hauling glass out of a couple of plants in north Texas. I'd like to get some info from any drivers that are currently involved in this, mainly where are you running, miles, and home time. I'm not afraid of hard work, my current job has me hauling tires out of a warehouse in Dallas and unloading 500-700 tires a day. Thanks for the help and be safe.

So hubby has been back to driving for Maverick since June. First 3 weeks or so he was back and forth to Freightliner getting the same issue fixed. (including AC) Now at Freightliner in Ohio (Cleveland? I don't remember)getting AC fixed again. Really hoping he gets a new truck soon. He is driving the 2007. Sad thing is a driver that came to Mt. Holly after him came with a new truck, hubby got the one that was sitting at Mt. Holly PPG. I think he is liking being back with Maverick but doing alot of NYC runs that he didn't really have that much of working with them in the past. I know a few weeks ago he had 3 NYC runs.
He still didn't get reimbursed for renting a vehicle to come back to PA after his training in Laurinburg. He has asked several times. Guess he'll have to call elsewhere to see what is up with that. -
Hey Seawheeler, how do they load/unload the glass? Got passed by two glass haulers (not Mavericks) today and was curious. Crane? Padded fork truck? The Force?

I have read with great interest, the posts that have come from this thread. I read every single one of the posts before making the commitment to head to The Rock in AR on 9-8. I made it through all the orientation, physical and abilities testing, the barn and the training in Laurenburg. I am now home for a few days with the family and expect to be leaving to meet my trainer in the next few days back down in Laurenburg. I do, however, have a few questions about the do's and dont's of my new truck when I get it. I am intersted in having satelite radio, a normal truck installed refrig, maybe a small microwave, and a tv. You guys that have been out there for a while: what are you doing with these items? Are these items acceptable? Can I install them? I know that Maverick has to install my CB, but what about the rest? I managed a car stereo shop in my younger years and am very familiar with 12V systems. What have you heard from other drivers? Any info would be great!!
Thanks
Mark
