Actually, they do check BEFORE you come... that is if you require them to. I had several jobs and let them know up front I would not be going anywhere until the checks were made. I know that they did this, mostly because I had to contact a few of them to get the paperwork filled out.
Been with them for a few weeks now, they have done everything that they said they would, getting the miles they told me they would give me, and the dispatchers actually appear to be looking out for me.
I rode the bus, and yes it sucked, but no more than any other company that I worked for in the past, guess what I am saying in general, life at any company is what you make of it. Some people can not be happy about anything, get over it! Slam the company about real issues, I want to know if you get a crappy truck, or don't get paid, not that you were ticked off that you were not good enough to work for the company.... Geez
Oh, and BTW I got a 2011 freightliner, in great shape, have gotten paid for every mile and am home now on a reset.

I'm seriously considering ptl. I have the experience and don't mind the north east. Any good news about them as of lately ? I know they were a nightmare company after the old man sold the company. Has it improved ?

I have made $ 800.55 average in 21 weeks of pay.... So basically in 5 months worth of working this year for PTL is way better than you $14800 in 9 months....
No, I am not a recruiter for them either. And I do know how to spell also...You really need to go back to school or buy a spell checker there bud...It took me reading your posts about 4 times to try & comprehend what you were really trying to say.
Also you haven't been there for atleast 2 months...PTL raised their West Pay!
**Note I did not put my whole stub on here due to it would release who I am & I can get into major trouble if found out I am discussing pay on certain levels.
** Also I have taking off work for PTL due to medical issues(Suspected heart attack & family issues).
So, I do hope you got your legal issues worked out & that you found a trucking company that works well for you.
Also, you might want to add up your Express Prem. That was part of your pay too. It was your cash advances!
Here is copy of pay stub:
PERIOD END 7/26/12
GROSS 11,808.58
EXPREM 5,037.12 (Cash Advances)

To the poster who asked about how PTL is for O/O... I wouldn't do it with a 10 foot pole! Unless your truck is paid off, or you have a note through a bank of your own only! Do Not Lease On through their crappy thing. It is through a seperate entity & is a bad deal.
1.No Warranty after 30 day
2.MUST RUN YOUR OWN MAINTANCE ACCOUNT(Most drivers do not know how to put back their own funds for this thing).
3.Most trucking companies only want to pay 90cpm plus fuel surcharge....Not enough at all. If you do some research you can find deal paying way better... A local company here which is national also. Pays $1.16 + fuel.
So, please, please shop around or PM me & I'll tell you who the Localcompany is.mje Thanks this.
