Does Schneider care if you are a fresh grad from a school out-of-state? I am in California and I am debating if I should go to school there in TX. I want to work in the oil fields.

RI think they will talk to you. Not a bad job. I am on the road this weekend and could set you up with a recruiter on Monday
Want2 Thanks this. -
No they don't care which state you go to school in or test in. We have drivers on our account still running around with out of state licenses for months after they got onto the account even though they are supposed to get that changed over within 30 days. Plus Schneider's corporate headquarters are in Wisconsin and they have OCs all over the US.Want2 Thanks this.

Thanks, Stubby. I haven't enrolled yet, I was just asking in general. I am still in planning mode.
What is required to change over your license and endorsements from another state? Any retesting need to be done? Or is it just paper work? -
It is just paperwork to change over, but Texas does require that if you have a personal vehicle it be registered in Texas first before they will change your license.Want2 Thanks this.

Thats good to hear, thanks for the info.

And a TWIC card. I don't think you will retest -
Hey shootthis
I was told comming from another State you need to take all the tests again. Which is true? Haz-mat and all -
I am graduating from TDI in Dallas on Aug 10th looking to get into Eagle Ford with SNI, does anybody know if this will be possible? I have experience driving in the military. will have tanker, hazmat. any comments or suggestions would be very welcome.

Want2, in addition to having it inspected first, and registering your vehicle in Texas, you also have to prove residency to change your license over, which requires a lease, deed or mortgage and a utility bill, or other like documents or an affadavit and a person you 'claim' to live with to come with you to the DMV ( I wouldn't wish that on anyone) to vouch for you.
There's a $90 fee to register the vehicle and taxes that they don't tell you about until you're there in the DMV, as near as I could tell anyway, in addition to the regular fees. You also have to move your insurance to your new TX address before you can register it, yet another fact they don't disclose until you're there.... gotta love a finely tuned obstructive bureaucracy. God forbid your last name on your birth certificate doesn't match the name on your license....but that's $259 and another story.
As for Hazmat, if you already have one in another state, you have to repeat the fingerprint and background check to do it, but you can get a 'hazmat permit' for 45 days while you wait, though I understand that wait isn't as long as that anymore. You don't have to repeat the tests.Last edited: Aug 3, 2012
