I don't have the Cascadia anymore, it was given to a team.

I am now in a 09 Pro Star.

    Let's see.
The A/C shuts off after 15 minutes. (blower still works, but the air is no longer 'conditioned)
    Webasto doesn't work.
Air horn, marker interupt and headlight interupt buttons on the steering wheel pods don't work, except when sitting in the shop. Then they seem to work fine.
Radio doesn't pick up AM or weather stations, except when in a city. Not much in the way of FM either, out on the road.
Air tanks lose air pretty quickly, but the compressor keeps them full while driving. (this morning was the worst it has been, probably because it was so darn cold)
CB radio antenna wiring seems to be faulty.
    Needs driver side door gasket.

The day after I got the truck I was down for almost a week fixing a tranny output shaft seal leak.

In Denver they rebuilt practically the entire A/C system. But it still does the same thing.
I brought it back in the next day for the steering wheel buttons, and they replaced both pods. Worked fine in the shop, but still does the same thing when out on the road. Every now and then they will work. 99% of the time they don't.
They fixed the Webasto, and it worked for 1/2 of a night.

    Sigh...

So, I'll try a different shop. Maybe they will have better luck with this demon of a truck.

Get your cab air filters replaced and have them replace the thermistor for the A/C.

The smart wheel buttons problem sounds like a bad ground, probably worn in the steering wheel or it has a piece of debris or dirt in it preventing it from grounding. Have it checked and cleaned at the swivel connection.

Have all three of your antennae replaced. That AM/FM antenna is in a very unfortunale spot and it can be easily damaged by someone careless with the windshield squeegee. The CB antennae break down from just being old and cheap.

Next time you're in a quiet spot, air up your system and listen for a leak at the back of the transmission and under the hood on the driver side firewall behind the air filter. Those are the usual suspects. If on the tranny, have the brass connection replaced. Don't let them get away with just cutting the end of the air line and shoving it back into the quick connect. That's about all I can come up with for now.

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

:biggrin_25514:Thanks for the advice, and I'll pass it along to the shop.

I recently thought of the filters, too. And I don't think that was something that was replaced in Denver.

I have been trying to pin down the air leak, and it might be in a line on the firewall. I could hear a little hissing there the other day. This morning the system was losing air faster, and it was really cold. About 15 minutes of driving, though, and it got better. I'm guessing that the line heated and expanded from engine heat, and sealed better.

Hopefully, in a shop that is not so overworked, these problems can be resolved. It's a decent truck, overall. But the myriad problems are really annoying.

Had a leak there in mine. Would meet spec for the brake test, but lost most of the air in the secondary during a 10 hour. Ten minute fix replacing the gasket.

Air leaks never get better on their own and DOT will write you for it even if it passes a brake leakdown test. Might not be a money ticket, but it counts points against you on an inspection.

Yes, I'm bumping an old thread, but a noob asked about the terminals, and I'm not typing out my response again.

Gary: despite the location. The service is nice and polite. Showers are rough, the lot is very cramped. Sometimes you need to move a trailer to get to the one you need. Unless you find a jockey.

Menasha: very small terminal. Very very nice staff. Mechanics are outstanding. If they say your truck is ready in 36 hours . It's ready in 35:59. They know Their stuff. Very open terminal for mentors to train students with various tasks.

Ocala: for me it's the most unfriendly terminal I have yet dealt with. You dont ask a driver " how did you get here?" I $&?!ing drove here... What kind of stupid question was that. We needed DEF fluid. Then when I left they didn't even tell us to be safe... Have a nice day... Nothing... Might as well tell me to roll the &$!? Over... Other than that the lot is very large and roomy. I think because no-one wants to go there.

Portland. Medium sized lot but no laundry... Bummer...

New jersey: medium drop lot. No showers, no laundry but it has a decent shop who are very nice.

PA: very nice large lot. They have OK showers and laundry(1.50 a machine) another good place to practice maneuvers. They also have alot of training here, as well as a Simulator. Good place to get your LOGs and SIM training. And to take care of Canadian runs paperwork. Very friendly staff here. The drivers here are the most sociable here as well.
