Some leases are 3.5 also . You manage your money you can make it .Definetly need a budget plan tho. My current profit and loss statement have me averaging .53 a mile

If you're paying 23% in taxes, uncle Sam sure loves ya! You can manage to do under 12-15%. I know guys that pay 5-7% after deductions.

Lease or owner operator isn't for everyone, that's why a lot of lease drivers fail. Some people just can't manage the money/business side of it and they just work the company side of it with no headache (and less $$).

23% is a bit much, like BlackLions said, 15% is more in line. 20% is a good percentage to CYA, better to have a little too much than not enough.

Now that 20% I put back is to hopefully make sure I have enough to cover quarterly. If it's less, that's even better.

Exactly... I do the same but should see a nice return in the end.

I set aside 10% of the gross, and pay 25% of what last year's total tax was. The rest stays set aside until my taxes are done. I hang on to every penny I can until the very last minute.
