The companies do the bulk of the backround verification during orientation for this reason. It costs a fair amount of money and resources, and many times drivers don't show up as agreed. So they wait and do it on the class that is present.
It can take some time.
I find that every class has a couple of people that do not disclose their infomation completely and accurately and the discrepancy raises it's ugly head during orientation.
One thing I don't agree with, is when they will not tell the driver what the problem is. I think they have the right to know. I don't know, maybe they have no sympathy for an outright lie. Or they just don't want get into a pissin contest.
